I think Trippier is a decent signing at a good price on a reasonable wage. It exceeds any other player at Newcastle because the previous owners wouldn’t pay that sort of wage but an experienced England international it’s a pretty good signing of a player who wanted to return to England.

Newcastle are going to get their pants pulled down on other players who genuinely don’t want to move to the North East, possibly starting with Digne who doesn’t want to move to Newcastle but will likely have his arm twisted with a stupid wage.

My immediate thought, it just proves how moronic their support is - clinging to an old victory that a) is a shadow of the record 9-1 and b) six in a row the other way since. It is like the way they think using Adam Johnston still holds sway given they not only had a coach who was a paedophile but have owners that murder children by the bus load and abuse significant sections of their society.
