Because you clearly don't know how transfers work. Some factors to bear in mind :

It's Jan there is a premium, he is English so there is a premium, he's a regular international so there is a premium. He's a top class player from a league winning side who don't want to sell, there is a premium.

It's not absurd. It's the going rate.
Don't know how transfers work

Alright Mino Raiola. How many deals have you been involved in?

Tell me what full backs earn 150k+ a week? If that's the going rate there should be loads.

12m doesn't seem bad. But there's add ons and 150k a week for a bloke who's 32 at the start of next season. If they're gonna hoy money around like that then they'll they'll come unstuck.

Theyve appointed Eddie howe ffs  'worlds richest'
The start of next season 🤣 f***ing hell he will be 40 at the start of 9 seasons time. What an odd statement .

If his team didn’t want to sell, you wouldn’t have him; and you certainly wouldn’t have him for the price of two 2005 Michael Chopras.

Tell me how many players you know the intricate details of their wages first.

Well I doth my cap, you most likely do give / and have gave a shit before takeover (also actively trying to make a difference) unlike most on her who didn’t give a flying Fook and are just jealous as hell.
Jealousy implies that what the mags are doing something people on here would aspire to. I think you are mistaken. There’s lads on this forum stopped going when di canio got the managers job mate. To write off peoples motives as “jealousy” is shallow and in the main inaccurate.

Very good signing is Trippier unfortunately, and the fee is very reasonable.

I've always liked him, and his set pieces will be worth a few goals too.

Don't think they'd have gone down anyway as Watford and Burnley will be lucky to get 20 points between them between now and the end of the season and Norwich are gone, but if they sign a few more players like that there is absolutely no question they'll survive.

Sensible business for them here. To be honest it's exactly the type of signing they need to be making.
He is used to slow paced footy - mags will go down as Watford due a good run as are leeds

Trippier is one month younger than Wayne Bridge was when he signed for SAFC for the 2nd half of the 2011/12 season.

Both 30 odd England caps, scoring 1goal.
Both won 1 major title.

I can’t remember much about Bridge’s time at SAFC. He never really seemed full of hunger and desire to succeed…

I don't see the fuss. He's an average player who wouldn't get in any top 10 side. He's on huge wages.

Look when he played for Spurs, fans got him out as he was so poor. Teams used to actively target the RB area when he played. Zero concentration and can't defend one on one to save his life.

Needs a good defensive RW who'll track back and give him support, who does he have? ASM?

I really do not understand the Arsenal business model of renewing contracts on ridiculous terms for him and Ozil and then wanting them out.

No Frankie Sandford either with this one.

Nobody is jealous of Newcastle- ugly as sin Amanda stavely who hadnt heard of Newcastle till she got a ticket vs liverpool. No home grown players likely anymore. Massive overpriced players signing. Aye you will win the cups and the leagues but hated by all. I like the way we are doing it and hope it stays that way. 30 odd thousand and global fans following the underdog team also think so.

You're the one saying it's the going rate

Based on what? How have you worked that out? What details do you have?
I love the fact you have allowed how much he's being paid rattle you so 🤣

Ben Chilwell is on 190k a week.
Luke Shaw is on 150k a week.

Both play fullback and both play with him in England.

Watch you say how they are younger now 🤣
