Beginning to wonder if they are tryng to con other players the way they always had 'huge' signings lined up around ST renewal dates. If there is a problem getting Trippier, no harm in spinning it out and keeping the publicity going. Mag patience starting to crumble already though. "it's all too slow" 🤣 - hurrying is howthey got Beheddie...

Typical of Newcastle fans on twitter to anyone who isn’t up there arse. Disgusting twts

Up to 30m. For a 31 year old that's some fee mind. Exactly the type of signing i was hoping they'd go for tbh. Will be a long contract. I much prefer they way we are setup integrating young players and hopefully turning big profits and success.

Hopefully players and other clubs rinse every bit of blood money out of them in long protracted talks so they don't sign until deadline day where they have to then pay even more. If i was Trippiers agent i would be saying hang on as we now have interest from UTD , Chelsea and a top Italian club as well. Let us speak to them to see what they have to say 1st...... "We are just a bit uncertain. Yes the 15 year contract on 200K a week is generous but that still only takes him into his prime at 46 year old "

Come on, own up! You ARE his agent aren’t you!!!!!

How much are you offering for him? We are willing to ignore all morals as long as the deal is right for both of us. The Newcastle owners are willing to throw in one of the swords actually used in public be headings for my mantle piece, so unless you have Pierrepoints hangman's noose then you're gonna struggle to win the blood race for his signature.........EDIT I mean for his new project obviously

Wow that is insane money considering his age

It's a very interesting project at Newcastle. Loads of cash but no clue. What is their philosophy? Looks completely scattergun.

Chilwell is out
Why join a relegation battle rather than Chelsea??

A few thoughts (hopefully rational):
1. Yes, Trippier is an upgrade and a good player (although very pricey 30 mil for a 31 year old likely on very high wages)
2. An attacking right back will not help their defensive frailties. They need two new centre backs. Howe is not a defensive minded coach which will mean more draws then wins unless they improve dramatically.
3. All clubs they deal with will be looking to have their trousers down for fees so its going to be a slog for each deal.
4. Ben Brereton Diaz is a big gamble. Not sure he is better than Wilson or St Max. I mean Dwight Gayle scored alot in the championship IIRC.
5. I think they will stay up due to Watford being a clusterfuck of a football club.
6. The sportswashing is succeeding already. Media don't give a fuck about MBS being a genocidal dictator. Fans obviously not conflicted in the slightest. Football is just about money, no morality or ethics in the game.

Quality footballer, massive upgrade on what they have. That is the idea of the January window, try and improve the squad. They will get two or three more in.

He’s 31. He’s a right back.

Right backs don’t keep you in the league.

Smacks of when West Ham bought people like Lucas Neil to try and stay up.

Shitting themselves in case they don’t get a few stars in before they have to play another game. Don’t know what they’re worried about. No one is going to force them to play. Just take January off.
They'll just call the Premier League and get the Watford game called off...say something like 5 of the squad are going to Blackpool on the Club pigeon lads trip so can't turn a team out...it'll be fine
