Under 23s don't count in your squad surely, so unless you don't have any under 23s?
U23s would but u21s wouldn't.
Clearly appears to be that 13+1 is out of your first team pool of 25 registered players rather than counting your 40 or 50 u23, u21 and u18 players

Not if they have kicked a ball for the first team or on loan including the efl looking at the rules

However although it's blatant I honestly think your lot couldn't have played Everton at a better time and it comes back to bite you massively in the arse.

I'm not sure how many have actually done that.
Looking at the reserve (u23) appearances and the u21 appearances in the football league trophy i don't think there's any with first team experience here or on loan other than Tom Allan or Elliott Anderson

Everton already pulled their boxing day game so might have been in favour of this as well. Obviously the league decides but if both clubs are happy to do it then it makes the league's decision easier

It's a f***ing shite rule like.

Anyone with a professional contract should be expected to play if needed, especially in the current climate.

Clubs are taking the piss and the governing bodies are letting them.

Surely if you are naming 4 keepers in the 25 then one of them can play upfront for a few games. A sort of reverse Quinny

In fact... Why not take it one step further and name 10 keepers and 15 outfield players ...couple of injuries or suspensions and you don't even need to play !!

I agree.
They'll moan about a backlog of fixtures later in the year.
I mean, in a way, I can see why it exists. A club like Man City or Chelsea with massive strength in depth won't be affected so much, but smaller clubs with weaker u23 or u21 squads or academies won't cope with a big loss of players as well. It does kinda make it fairer for the poorer clubs. In the league cup recently Man City fielded 5 or 6 18 year olds and they were good. 5 or 6 18 year olds from a team with a shit academy won't stand a chance against a first team from any half decent top 8 outfit.
Man City 18 year olds are gonna be better than Burnley 18 year olds.

But as I said, I agree. If you have 30, 40, 50 professional footballers on your books you should play regardless of their age

Could be onto something there.

They need to be careful else could end up playing away at Everton and Southampton on say Tuesday/Thursday of same week to get the season finished. There are going to be so many re arrangements that it's going to be tuoigh fitting them all in

Yeah it's obviously going to be better for the big sides if everyone is at the same levels but games need to be played when they can as nobody can predict what will happen in the future.

Already talk of it being midweek in April or May

Think they are being clever but at least the whole country knew exactly what they are doing, they are becoming more hated than Man U.
