No, bench wasn’t full
So, from 19 players available last night, they had 2 injuries and now can't put out 13 players, despite Hayden back from suspension?
Must be at least 5 positive covid cases in the first team squad since last night then?
I personally don't think they'll get anyone in on the 1st, all teams play it cagey then it's usually all guns blazing on the last day of the window.Let's see who comes in on January 1st
Probably nobody, clubs will be reluctant to sell players early January because of covid and not many decent players will want to risk playing championship football in 7 months. I hope this doesn't spoil your eveningLet's see who comes in on January 1st
Join the rest of the stinking gravy stained tossers on ignoreNo we didn't. I'm not sure why everyone is so upset when we're literally doing what every club has done that hasn't been able to field a team![]()
So just how many covid cases do they have if the PL also accept all their injuries?I don't know how many noticed last night but Manquillo got booked for time wasting in the 95th minute. That was his 5th booking so he would have missed the Everton game and therefore another non covid missing player. He will have known this before kickoff so why do it so late in the game for something so stupid?
It seemed clear ASM and Wilson were injured though Fraser went off 'injured' in the 75th minute and Schar was holding his hamstring late in the game so I wonder if he's also injured now.
Do the Premier League have a limit of how many injuries/suspensions that are allowed when adding to covid cases? Given the likes of Chelsea have asked but were denied yet seemed to put out a decent team then why don't the PL come out and say how many are affected by covid and name them. I'd assume they are also checking tests are valid of course.
Everton have also had players out so possibly wouldn't have had anywhere near a full strength team out anyway but even you have to wonder just how many are due to covid and how many to injuries, especially with the Mags.
I wonder if Schar is injured but the point is that having so many players 'injured' and just a few with covid is a piss take. What if there was no covid, what on earth would teams do I wonder? In howe's post game interview he said you have to be able to name 13 outfield players and a goalkeeper.
Last night we had only 8 on the bench instead of 9 and two of those were keepers.
So out of 19 players in the squad we had 16 outfield players. With 4 injuries/suspensions that takes us below the number. Although i don't see why we can't bring in academy players and just get on with it

The Board accepted Newcastle’s postponement application as the club does not have the required number of players available for the match (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper), due to COVID-19 cases and injuries.

I see Schar now listed injured with cramp along with Fraser with a tight hamstring according to one injury website. Why did Manquillo get booked so late in the game knowing he'd end up having to miss the next game?
So that's 5 players now 'missing' from the Everton that probably would be 2 genuine ones under normal circumstances. You had 19 last night so down to 14 but have got Hayden coming back from suspension so that's 15. So there's at least another 2 injuries or covid cases since last night. That's why it would be interesting to see which are covid and which are injuries when the PL calls a game off.
DunnoHow many had covid?
Gives messi, mbappe and bale enough time to get themselves settled into their one bedroom ground floor flat in elswickI agree. Bit transparency would be good to see who's got what.
I think the manquillo thing might have been deliberate.
Southampton on new years day will probably get cancelled too. That gives until the 15th to add players or get others fit
Luxury!Gives messi, mbappe and bale enough time to get themselves settled into their one bedroom ground floor flat in elswick
There’s something nefarious going on like no doubt. This cancellation after 2 key injuries is obvious and just taking the piss.Sky pay the PL 4.5 billion to show their “product” The PL passed the takeover as soon as the piracy issue was settled. It’s not a stretch when you consider it, to believe it’s in their own interest to suck the Saudis off by proxy using the mags to do so. Mr righteous Neville has been hiding from the subject as have his colleagues. I almost puked listening to jones last night.

The top flight is vile…
So just to get this clear- if a club has 6 players out injured, tough shit they need to play the game.
But if a club has 3-4 players injured plus 2 that have tested positive for covid, the game is postponed.
Is that right ?
Its so obvious it almost defies beliefThere’s something nefarious going on like no doubt. This cancellation after 2 key injuries is obvious and just taking the piss.
