I don't know how many noticed last night but Manquillo got booked for time wasting in the 95th minute. That was his 5th booking so he would have missed the Everton game and therefore another non covid missing player. He will have known this before kickoff so why do it so late in the game for something so stupid?
It seemed clear ASM and Wilson were injured though Fraser went off 'injured' in the 75th minute and Schar was holding his hamstring late in the game so I wonder if he's also injured now.
Do the Premier League have a limit of how many injuries/suspensions that are allowed when adding to covid cases? Given the likes of Chelsea have asked but were denied yet seemed to put out a decent team then why don't the PL come out and say how many are affected by covid and name them. I'd assume they are also checking tests are valid of course.
Everton have also had players out so possibly wouldn't have had anywhere near a full strength team out anyway but even you have to wonder just how many are due to covid and how many to injuries, especially with the Mags.
14 players + keepers are enough to stop a game being postponed.
20-25 man squads plus 20+ player u23's squads would mean you would need approx 25 players + all with covid at the same time.
The kicker, and the real piss take, being that u23 players only count as being eligible if they have made a first team appearance so the PL is now actually incentivising NOT playing u23 players (and stunting their development) at the same time as demanding PL u23 players are developed by EFL teams in the pizza cup.
Whole thing is a total circus.
