Jofra Archer ruled out until next summer

It doesn't matter if the fast bowlers have been brought up in England or nicked from somewhere else but they always end up buggered

Big blow.

I wish this myth would stop that he got injured because Root overbowled him in one game in NZ

He overbowled him then, but then used him in short spells for almost every other game after, apart from at Lords against Smith, with any captain in the world would have.

Fast bowlers get injured, its part of the job, lets hope he recovers but wish media would stop the myths

I think he is a hell of a talent but can never work out how good he was, what do people reckon?

When you watch him against Smith that time, then when you watch him at Manchester in the Ashes, and a lot of tests after that when he was bowling mid 80s all game, you cant help wonder what was going on

Was he injured then? I think he was trying like, just maybe he isnt always sure how to bowl that quick?

It just seemed to strange as we thought he'd be a world beater and then he just rarely bowled that fast in test cricket again.

I am no expert like, just when you look at Wood, since his change of run up, he is just always always quick, Even when he is knackered, he may drop a bit but its still high 80s

Archer bowling low to mid 80s in some tests, was it deliberate or someit?

Coached to bowl more accurate and less pace

Bowling 90mph+ day in and out is very demanding and is a great strain on the body. All the top bowlers in the County Championship are "medium fast" at best. They bowl a lot of overs and take a lot of wickets.
In recent years we have seen a trend of the "fast" bowlers dropping out of test cricket to play all the big 20/20 competitions. In the words of Lasith Malinga " I get paid more money to bowl 4 overs, every other day, than I do bowling 20 overs per day in Test Cricket".
Steve Harmison once said " I am the best 90mph bowler in the Country but I am nowhere near the best 80mph bowler".
He was only worth picking in Tests if he could bowl his fastest. To do this he had to be "looked after" and bowl less overs. Durham got less and less out of him and the same is happening with Mark Wood.
