We are three decent players from being too strong for this league

Today was a decent result all things considered and the performance was that of a decent team playing with several positions not functioning to the standard we need.

Having to finish a game with Gooch and O’Brien on the pitch is a problem.

They are both decent lads who just aren’t quite the level we need, I think in the case of AOB, Johnson realises it but in the case of Gooch I’m not sure we’ll ever see him replaced while LJ remains.

Looking at our injury list, Cirkin, Huggins, O’Nien and a fully fit McGeady could come in but we have to assume that they won’t necessarily be available fully fit for the whole of the second half of this season.

I’d like to see one wide player plus Diamond coming back, one right back and a strong central midfield player.

All new signings should be starting XI quality players with potential to improve.

Gooch was good when he went rwb - don’t get this obsession with him being our worst player, on par with O’Brien

We are pretty far from “3 decent players from being too strong for this league” also - first half they were all shite to a man. Wigan and Rotherham both look streets ahead.

I'm not so sure. Even when we had a full fit team it's not as if we were steamrolling teams and winning every game. Cirkin's still got a lot to prove, Huggins had hardly played and McGeady has been average for his usual standards.

I do agree we probably need at least 3 quality signings. Mind if we bring in the right players we could run away with it. I still think we need a striker as good as Stewart, why not bring in a better player? If we have any ambition we would do, we shall see.

Gooch would get plenty of game time at both Rotherham and Wigan.

Unfortunately the top 8 sides would say the same and likely be in a similar position.
For now keeping in the pack - all positive.

When you have a bad run of injuries in league1 you expect one or other of the kids to nail.down a place. Ours haven't featured.much at all which probably means they arent good enough but also means were more than 3 players away of we have another bad run of injuries. Our biggest problem is that LJ isnt improving any of our players ( except maybe Dan Neil)

Gooch has been and can be an asset but he’s not a defender.

He cost us a goal at home to Oxford and two or three times today got completely skinned by his opponent who barely has to do anything to completely flummoxe Gooch.

Going forward he’s shown in the past couple of games he can be a real threat

We also continue to pick up injuries, nothing you can do about Dajaku's today though, awful tackle and the player wasn't even booked. The ref was a disgrace.

we need to be consistently scoring with ease to be too good, no sign of that.

Diamond is awful.
Probably found his level in div 4.

I think Wigan will run out of luck

I think AOB will be moved on. Don't think we're too far away. Big transfer window could make the difference (or not). Here's hoping🤞
