I love the delusion of our barcode chum:

I still think after a successful spree in January we will bolt up the league. Not even worried about relegation. Probably 12-15th once a few new faces are brought in. The likes of Burnley, Brighton, even Brentford these little clubs won’t be able to invest like we will. I’m confident.

Just who exactly do they think will go to the landfill in January for a doomed relegation scrap?

Try not to pay much attention to them lot given how far we are away from them these days, and how ironic it always is laughing at there plight given ours.

However if Rafa takes back over and they go down under him again, it will be ultimate karma for selling there souls to the beheaders.

I 100% guarantee they would still defend him mind. I’ve never known a bloke so bullet proof amongst a group of supporters.
Absolute nonsense we can always laugh at them no matter which league we're in ffs

Saw one post referring to Everton as “The Scouse Mackems”. I take it then that they see themselves as the equivalent of Liverpool in this dynamic. Leaving aside the fact that Everton’s achievements dwarf Newcastle’s, they are comparing themselves to one of the most successful teams in world football…

The Scouse Mackems thing came about a while back. I think its something to do with us bearing Everton to send Newcastle down (implying they rolled over for us). There's also the huge support Everton gave for Bradley Lowery when we played them.

How long into January will it take them to make a meaningful signing? Deals won't be straight forward as clubs will know how much money that have - and if we get to the 10th - 11th of Jan and they haven't signed anyone i can see a lot of mags kicking off

Shit full of signings on high wages and relegation clauses.

Then when relegated they will fuck off for half the fee paid.

Then summer of recruiting championship style players on high wages and large fees.

But it's alright cos they're loaded :)

The first time I saw the scouse makem thing was when the mags were saying that they were in effect 'Liverpool', and 'Everton' were us.

It was in the context of Liverpool / mags being the biggest, most successful / most prestigious team, and Everton were the same as us - bitterly living the shadow of their close by successful and bigger club.

Not that they're deluded you understand...

They are at Southampton on Jan 2nd which will be a must not lose, low confidence and not likely to have new additions ready to play
Southampton's form would suggest they will only get 2 points from the next 5 games.

Newcastle's form suggests 5 points.

So Newcastle would be on 15 and southampton on 18. After the January first games I think the table will look like this.

Everton 21
Leeds 21
Southampton 18
Watford 16
Burnley 15
Newcastle 15
Norwich 15

So, I still think they will be within an easily achievable points gain for survival.

Jamal lescelles has deleted his Twitter account, can’t for the life of me imagine why

It's pathetic really. Trying not to lump all of the fanbase in with this, but what's he done to deserve that level of abuse (which was also thrown at Bruce) just for being a bog-standard error-prone centre half? Their new owners - Stavely, her weird husband, Boris' cronie Reuben, and the headchoppers - are genuinely vile people, but they're put on a pedestal while honest triers like Lascelles are singled out for personal abuse? Stinks worse than a matchday on the Gallowgate.

Always found Everton spot on tbf. We bumped in to a load on the way to Wembley at some services the last time.

They were young lads, but very complimentary about us and their trips up here and loved Pickford!

A good run of games for them will get them out of there, they are not cut adrift by that many points.

Leeds (5)Man City AWAYArsenal HOMELiverpool HOME
Southampton (2)Palace AWAYBrentford HOMEWest Ham AWAY
Watford (3)Burnley AWAYPalace HOMEWolves AWAY
Burnley (4)Watford HOMEAston Villa AWAYEverton HOME
Newcastle (5)Liverpool AWAYMan City HOMEMan Utd HOME
Norwich (5)Aston Villa HOMEWest Ham AWAYArsenal HOME

In brackets are the points gained over the last 5 games.
Note: Everton (3), Palace (4), Brighton (4) West Ham (5), Arsenal (6), Wolves (5), Man City(15) Liverpool (15)

I'm not sure Leeds will get anything out of their next 3 games, Southampton might pick up 2 or 3 points, Watford and Burnley are going to struggle and if Watford win the head to head Burnley are on that slippery slide out of there. If Newcastle are still within 7 points of Watford or Southampton after these fixtures they will be in with a good chance of survival.
So......Burnley, Southampton, Brentford, Watford, Villa, Norwich all play at least one game against one of each other......meaning.......if ISIS United fail to get any points in their next 3 games (>75% probability imo) then they will, by default, fall further behind the pack.
