Unless Burnley, Norwich, Southampton, Leeds, Everton and Watford and a couple of others all fail to get significant point haul in the next 5 games, Newcastle will be ok after they spend big in January. They're only 4 points from getting out of relegation zone.
couple of games between these teams before New Year during Mags horrible run of fixtures will stretch the gap.
Away to Southampton on Jan 2nd will be massive pressure game for a team probably very low on confidence and likely to have no new additions ready to play

Between now and January...
Norwich play Villa
Burnley play Watford
Villa play Burnley
Southampton play Brentford
Watford play Palace
Burnley play Everton

They can't all drop points between now and then. If (as we suspect) Newcastle get nothing from the next 3.... the gap will have increased

Leeds play Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool. They could be right back in the mix

Well I can’t comment too much on that because it would come across as biased. I go back to my point I always make regarding Newcastle and certain other clubs. If you’d have gone back to 1992/93 and said Newcastle were on par with Everton you’d have got laughed out of the room. What exactly have Newcastle achieved from then up until now to make it any different. Coming second 2-3 times and reaching the odd cup final doesn’t cut it with me. Still won nowt and been relegated twice. Newcastle are in the group of clubs below Everton.

Yeah we classed United as our rivals back in the 90s but they didn’t and don’t give a shit about villa like they didn’t and don’t give a shit about Newcastle . Fergie had their measure

“Just a wee club from the north east”

And compared to United thats all they will ever be
Have you not read the guidance?

- only club to not have an average attendance in the prem under 50k…or is it 40k? Or 30k?
- most Europa league games ever
- every away game sold out

Absolutely ridiculous to suggest Everton, league winners in 87, cup winners in 95, European Cup Winners in 85 are bigger than the 1955 FA cup winners. Jeez.

Norwich & The Mags are down imo. Watford will probably join them. Think Burnley will pick some wins up, Dyche knows what he's doing. I cannot see anyone else getting dragged in tbh, maybe Southampton

If Southampton, who are already 6 points better off than the mags (with a +7 better goal difference) beat the mags early January before they have spent their millions (which I don't think is going to materialise) it would put Southampton 9 points clear of the mags.

There is no chance they are making that ground up like, the same applies to Leeds and Everton who are also 6 points and 8 points ahead and both with better goal differences and who the mags have to play away (they also have Everton at home).

They are going to have to win games at Southampton and/or Leeds and Everton which on current form I just can't see happening.

It's 3 from 4 to go down, Burnley, Watford, Newcastle and Norwich - and that's the bottom 4 finishing positions in that order right there.

Surprised how many are confident Watford will stay up.
Worst team I've seen us play this season (and we were shite). Don't think Ranieri is the man for a relegation battle.
Got a chance with Dennis though.
Can see them going for Iheanacho in January. Barely had a sniff this season and Rodgers doesn't seem to rate him despite him dragging us through last season single handedly at times.
*and by them I mean Newcastle, not Waford.

I hope you're right but I don't have much faith in PL stopping them doing what they want, approving the takeover in the first place suggests their is always a way roung things
Iirc it's about £150 million, due to big Mike running a tight ship in prior years. Remember though that Joe Linton cost them £40 million..... And that's pre Saudi tax.

We made more ground up than that under big Sam so it can be done.
