“ The Premier League had received "legally binding assurances" that the Saudi state would not control the club.

Masters says the owners can be removed if "evidence to the contrary" is found.

However, he admitted that the league may not necessarily be aware if the country's Crown Prince - who is also the chairman of PIF - gave orders to the club's directors.

Speaking to BBC Sports Editor Dan Roan in his first public comments since the league approved the deal, Masters added: "In that instance, I don't think we would know. [But] I don't think it is going to happen."”

I know ‘Panto Season’ is approaching, but Wishy f***ing Washy has arrived early this year.
Legally binding assurances from the Saudi state 😂😂😂😂 as if any part of that country could do anything independently without state control 🙄

Staveley and the Reubens are what confuses me. MbS (sorry PiF... as they are so different) has the money. That's clear. So where do they fit in

Between them they own 20%. Now I'm not an economist, and football economics are batshit crazy anyway.... but how does it work with them.

If they have to pay 20% of the transfer "wor chest" is that limiting factor?

As I said, I genuinely don't know how it works. But as 20% owners surely it's 20% liability.

It maybe wishful thinking.... but I suspect this is going to end in tears.

Staveley and the Rubens provide 2 things that I can see?
Firstly they're a 'fig leaf' so people can point to the pretence that the KSA is not running NUFC.
Secondly it means they do all the media work so that a representative of the PIF/KSA doesn't have to answer difficult questions.

Journalists have already asked one or two uncomfortable questions of Staveley, the Ruebens and Eddie Howe - yet the chairman who is from the PIF - hasn't once spoken to the media, let alone been in a press conference.

Just guesses from what I've read.

"....but, but, but no others clubs fans are protesting about their owners human rights records, it's just other jealous clubs stirring up trouble"

Newcastle fans actively and vigorously campaigned for the takeover to happen by this despicable Saudi regime and were played like a fiddle by the puppet master Staveley at the time.
Haha asking Jake Cvntphrey to get the game delayed
