Problem is how can they remove the owners? They could deduct points and basically relegate them and not let them back in till they were sold?

That's absolutely mental mind. They must know there's a link. Tell you what, if the mags live within their means then maybe PIF is acting without instruction from the ruling Saudis (despite mbs being in position like) and its just an investment. But, since they're the investment arm for Saudi Arabia, surely if they go "off piste" and start going well in debt on the deal, they'd need to get the okay from above? They wouldn't be allowed to just have their own rogue purchase that they don't want to make money from! It's just such blatant bullshit. He knows the Saudis are involved, the mags know it, we know it, everyone knows it. There's absolutely no chance that he'd ever accuse them of it though, it's just words that he knows he'll never have to back up

Mate they have the fella who masterminded the khasoggi killing running a twitter account acting as a newcastle fan. The head of the saudi state is the chairman of pif who own the mags. The mags are the saudi state. As you said everyone knows it. Hopefully they slip up. But I suspect money always rules the roost.

Staveley and the Reubens are what confuses me. MbS (sorry PiF... as they are so different) has the money. That's clear. So where do they fit in


Between them they own 20%. Now I'm not an economist, and football economics are batshit crazy anyway.... but how does it work with them.

If they have to pay 20% of the transfer "wor chest" is that limiting factor?

As I said, I genuinely don't know how it works. But as 20% owners surely it's 20% liability.

It maybe wishful thinking.... but I suspect this is going to end in tears.

They injected 38m already. In order to keep the 80:10:10 split AS and JR will have had to put in 3.8m each. Sources suggest AS has borrowed this from PIF. If they put in 200m then 20m etc....else AS and JR will be diluted. One things AS said last night in those letters was "10 years". That has come as a surprise as I expected them out in 5.

Effectively PIF have been sold the same dream as ES - invest in the club, solidify it in top 6 and you will make a big profit.


Getting EH, haggling over 200k for backroom staff and still having Steve Nickson and Frank McPartland calling the shots gives me cause for hope.
