Steve Smith

Not fussed, Smith served his punishment. Actually think he comes across well
That he has and have no issue with him playing, that's for sure. Having said that, he should be nowhere near leadership positions. Cric Auz haven't changed either. Still big heads.
It was a bit of sandpaper ffs  They all did it: you hear stories about the England 2005 ashes team with their mints, Jimmy standing on the ball, Faf with his sweets etc. He served his ban and the only reason it was a big problem in the first place was the moral indignation of the Australian public based upon this weird idea they all have of Australian cricket.
I've got to disagree there. There is a sliding scale with cheating and ball tampering I agree. But there is a difference with putting saliva soaked with sugar on the ball and using a hand tool reserved usually for smoothing wood.

What makes me really sick is the treatment Bancroft is getting from them. Leading county run scorer for them for the last 2 seasons and still no where near replacing Warner as opener. Who has just been given a heroes send off after allowed to decide when he retires. Now we have Smith being slowly inched back to being captain.

Out of the 3 that got caught. Only Bancroft is still paying for 'sandpapergate', because he had the temerity to tell the truth. The bowlers knew and this wasn't the 1st time they had sanded the ball.

The Michael Atherton episode seems to be well and truly forgotten.Glass houses and stones?
Again there's a difference between being found with some dirt in your pocket trying to dry or rub the ball and the systematic use of sandpaper to rough it up. At least 3 people knew of it in the Aussie team. I think Athers was going solo I believe.
