Is that LGBT+ lad still involved with SAFC in some capacity? Vaguely recall him having a meltdown on social media not too long ago. Just curious as can't see similar groups anywhere else in football having any sympathy with the the NUFC ones now

United with Pride have gone whinging to the BBC.

Gone for a combination of “we don’t have a say” and “we’d rather work with them”. Also managed to work in some of the recent narrative on social media abuse as well, good effort:

“the narrative has been hijacked by some people”

“social media pile-on”

“been quite a difficult time for us as volunteers, and mental health has become a really challenging situation”

“We have zero influence on who owns Newcastle United Football Club”

“difficult to see where the value is in helping LGBT people in Saudi Arabia by attacking football fans here who just want to go to a game”

"If you want to improve the conditions for people in Saudi Arabia, talk to Amnesty International, talk to the Saudi consulate, talk to the UK government”

Ive never seen a more pathetic group than this lot.
I suppose we should be used to it by now but some of the shite they've spouted there is disgusting.

"the narrative has been hijacked by some people who believe that we, as football fans, should be doing something about the human rights issues in Saudi Arabia because our owner is from that country and has taken a role in running it."

Your owner isn't from that country - he is that country. He's the leader in charge of all the murdering and torturing, you slimy twats.

"It's been quite a difficult time for us as volunteers, and mental health has become a really challenging situation."

That's not a mental health problem. That's your vestigial conscience quite rightly going berserk.

"We can't do anything at present about conditions in Saudi Arabia," he says. "If we get the chance to do that further down the line with our relationship with Newcastle United, then we will absolutely do it."

This old chestnut! See Bayern Munich for lessons on how not to be a ****.

"And if we get a sense for a second that we're being used as a puppet by some regime, then you'll find we'll be releasing a different statement - and you may well see us protesting outside of the stadium."

Fair play here I suppose. You're not being used as a puppet. You've willingly volunteered to do their sportswashing for them.

"If you want to improve the conditions for people in Saudi Arabia, talk to Amnesty International, talk to the Saudi consulate, talk to the UK government who engage with them all of the time."

You engage with them every time you go to the match or post about them on social media or buy merchandise you morons.

"We have zero influence on who owns Newcastle United Football Club… and we just hope that, over time, people come to realise that attacking us doesn't get the results you want."

1)
2) Or more likely, over time, you'll realise that doing the Saudi's sportswashing for them doesn't get the results that pretty much every other LGBTQ+ group in the world wants.

Didn't he disapear shortly after someone pointed out something he did a few year ago?

They’re all over taking the knee and rainbow laces. That obviously doesn’t apply to their brothers and sisters outside the U.K.
Why would our PM take the Saudis to task? He was complicit in the deal going through.
Theres plenty they could do. Remember support the team not the regime. But that was before they sold themselves for money.
Who are they trying to kid with this rank nonsense? Who do they hope to convince? Why even speak of it? They’ve done what they’ve done. Every LGBTQ organisation in the U.K. ( and many elsewhere ) know about it.
They need to Just get on with it. It’s what they wanted. All the “poor us” crap in the world won’t fix this. Only they can try and do that. Theyve got some work on like. Everything they’ve worked toward and the progress made now lies in ruins. They've trashed their credibility for maybe a new mid fielder.
LIe! at least 6,500 jobs are being re-located from within the area primarily with the closure of Longbenton. A trick he has learned from his Tory pals there.
Aye. Our lasses marra is one of them

😂 As sure a sign as there is that you’ve got it wrong.

Why do they want to keep going anyway? Do they think that they might get an invite to the directors box and some freebies from the scumbag owners? Honestly cant see any other reason for their existence now that they’ve completely shredded their own credibility.

At the least you’d think the people who currently front it would take a back seat and let someone else lead, following that ridiculous statement.

Nice to see the Get Carter carpark in the background there. Proper Geordies.
That video is driving them crazy with embarrassment. Almost every comment is claiming that the people taking part are idiots and don’t represent their fan base. I reckon that video and the Crystal Palace banner are probably the 2 main things they’d love to just disappear from social media. We just need to make sure that never happens.

You have an issue with regards to what Sunderland supporters decide to put on a Sunderland board ! Not yours that latest fuckwhittery so is the Hereford goal yours ?
I assume Newcastle boards never put clips of Sunderland f***ing up ??
Again, you don't get the point, I don't have an issue with what is put on the board, I am interested to know why that video cheers him up and not videos of SAFC winning, SAFC fans can put what they wan't on this board and they do, I don't have an issue with it....

I am sure NUFC boards do the same, as you mentioned....

Not sure why you want to answer for the poster I quoted....

Up until the last line it's tongue in cheek but the last line "we could buy your whole squad....."....hits the nail on the head. This is what a large number of mags think and believe will happen.

If it was isolated I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. But there’s footage everywhere of them dressed up as Arabs. Wearing camels to the match. Saudi flags. They’re pissing into the wind. It absolutely represents them. All in, 100%. They can’t just cherry pick the bits they like.

Tbf I don't think it does represent their fan base. I doubt they even go to games. They remind me of the people we have who live in Sunderland and barely bother with football at all but as soon as there is a derby game they turn up in their droves to pubs at 9am to get seats closest to the tvs, act like they are the biggest fans the clubs ever had, fake and over exaggerate emotion at anything that happens during the game, then disappear again until the next derby in on tv.

It's still nauseating and embarrassing as fuck, mind.

Battle for what?

Is it like the one Wraith is spearheading where he's having "useful conversations" with the owners about modernising Saudi society?

What is wrong with people like this?
