Also, you have no onerous contracts... yet

Let's see how January plays out shall we. Signing players in the relegation zone, in January, when you have all sung about how much money you have, and when the rest of the league hates you.....

That's going to be a magnet for overinflated prices and onerous contracts

I got in a twitter spat pointing this out. They simply don't see that they only attraction to players is a big pay day and instead think it's about playing at SJP in front of 52k jawdees! Lingard was born in 1992 - his perception of the mags will be it's cold and a shite ground where he played academy games but for 200k p/w/ he may well move. He is on 76k now and has turned down a new contract. Given that the 76k deal was signed 5 years ago his new offer must be 100k p/w/ +....but a mag on twitter told me "He wouldn't be on 200k a week more likely to be 80-90 with a relegation release agreement".

Linguard will go to West Ham.

It may not be about how much the Mags offer if he doesn't want to be tarnished with the Despot regime.

This is the type they will be getting: "Newcastle are interested in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Axel Witsel, 32, and the Belgium international, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is open to a move"

On c140k p/w at Dortmund, 33 in January. No doubt he would love a lovely 3.5 year deal at 200k p/w at the mags. They will lap it up as he plays for Belgium and is geet mint although he hasn't scored in 2 seasons for Dortmund and a new contract doesn't seem to be on the table. He moves to Zenit and China so moving not an issue for him.

United with Pride have gone whinging to the BBC.

Gone for a combination of “we don’t have a say” and “we’d rather work with them”. Also managed to work in some of the recent narrative on social media abuse as well, good effort:

“the narrative has been hijacked by some people”

“social media pile-on”

“been quite a difficult time for us as volunteers, and mental health has become a really challenging situation”

“We have zero influence on who owns Newcastle United Football Club”

“difficult to see where the value is in helping LGBT people in Saudi Arabia by attacking football fans here who just want to go to a game”

"If you want to improve the conditions for people in Saudi Arabia, talk to Amnesty International, talk to the Saudi consulate, talk to the UK government”

Ive never seen a more pathetic group than this lot.

Deserve everything they get, they are turning a blind eye because they are the ‘richest club in the world’ no good pretending you’re just football fans who can’t make a difference when you protested outside of Sports Direct shops.

outrageous them lot. they have thrown their community under the bus, sold out their beliefs and chucked away their principles. they cannot play the victim because they were called out for it.

Exile needs legendary status for his 1 man crusade to absolutely torture the Mags on Twitter ! 👏
They are promoting pro Saudi bile desperately trying to mask the huge problems that their new owners bring.
It's been mentioned that if it wasn't them they would be getting unparalleled criticism from every form of media going, sadly for us they aren't really getting it as much as they should. So Exile's exploits are all the more important because of this.

He'll pay the price. MBS will be on the lookout as we speak

Ive watched it about 20 times. Im not sure why. Maybe like a freak show you feel compelled.
I’ve watched it twice. When that wifey ducks her head down and swooshes her hand around is etched in my memory....“we’ve got Victoria Beckham”

Also the thick fucker leaning in to hear the next line.

Christian Ronaldo. Fuck me.

This is where I struggle to get my head around the takeover

What exactly are the Saudis, Staveley and the Reubens actually getting from this? This board would have you believe its all about Saudi sportswashing, but Staveley and the Reubens will want to make money.

They won't make much if the club is run anything but sensibly. But sensible doesn't fit with the sportswashing message. The Saudis presumably want success and an image boost.

Newcastle might spend huge in the next few years. The PiF can afford it, but where does that leave the others. They want to make cash presumably and blowing huge sums on wages, infrastructure and transfer fees chasing success would seem to be at odds with that. They're wealthy business people. But they don't have the billions to burn that the PiF do

Which leaves me to think that the aim is to build up the club and flog it for a short term profit. Which would suit the Ruebens and Staveley.
But that would make me uncomfortable if I was a Newcastle fan as well. Who are they going to sell to, and how are they going to make money? The amount of money that needs spending is phenomenal, and the returns limited. Especially if the long term project is delayed by a relegation.

I'm obviously a little biased, but even with the red and white shirt taken off... I have a very strange feeling this might all end in tears
I don't see how they could flip the club. If there was anyone out there that's interested they could have bought it off Ashley for less than they might have to pay in a few years.

They should consider a name change as they haven’t United with other LGBT groups and seem Prouder of supporting a rich club than the rights of LGBT people in KSA.

Are they still refusing to work with other pride groups and actively trying to stop other groups from raising awareness?

Or are they pretending that didn't /isn't happening and claiming they are victims?

Staveley et al must have some financial interest in all this - not like she is like a jack walker, putting all her own money in just to see the mags win the league cup or finish 6th. It will all soon become very interesting if they go down. Will KSA be prepared to pump in more millions just to get back to where they were when they bought them. Would Staveley be prepared to go to Saudi if summoned and told you run the shit show from here so we can watch over this. Get your popcorn out as this could be better than anything on netflix.

Oh right. The old “mental elf” is it. Have they considered the mental health issues suffered by a rape victim sitting in her cell awaiting the day she is stoned to death. Or the teenager awaiting crucifixion? Or the gay man about to be chemically castrated and jailed for his sexuality?
They bring absolute shame on themselves ( or they would if they had any) They are sell outs and traitors to their cause. This was their chance to stand up for LGBTQ people in a country that subjects them to horrific treatment. A golden opportunity to act on behalf of all gay people and anyone else persecuted because of their sexuality. And they bottled it. They jumped into bed with the very people that perpetrate acts of horrific brutality on the very people they say they stand up for. I have no words to express the utter contempt I hold for them. Craven traitorous cowards every single one of them.
Try crying to someone who gives a fuck about you being called nasty names. Good luck finding anyone. They deserve every bit of flack coming their way. Not one of them will be thrown off a skyscraper today. Shitebags.

Last I heard they were still spying for the KSA.
I’ll second this, the man’s dedication to the cause is exemplary. Like other’s, I’ve tried to help chipping in here and there with a few comments to help put them back in their place, but Exile is relentless.
Respect to the lad and everyone else who keeps on the pressure. The media and the mags are doing their level best to “normalise “ this. It can’t be allowed to happen.

PIF are excellent investors with a strong track record and often exit quickly.

If this is an investment they would "flip" NUFC but if it is sportswashing they will splurge.

They got it for 2 x earnings when other Prem clubs (in Europe) are going for 5+. If they could get the mags to Europe and grow revenue, even moderately to 250m then the club value would be north of 1bn. Queen Mandy sold the dream of an undervalued club with good attendances. They are hamstrung by poor commercial revenue in an economically deprived area and also having "loyal" fans, i.e. at Anfield/OT there will be 10-20k different fans each week each spending 100 quid on their annual trip but with the new North America TV deal shows there is still an appetite for the EPL so they will grow revenues easily without even thinking about Saudi sponsorship.

Other buyers were put off by the investment needed to achieve Europe. The Saudi's can afford it and will sill recoup the costs and make a return.
