Lee Johnson - potential replacements

It won't be anyone like McCarthy or Warnock because they want a 'head coach' who can be controlled and play to a certain 'style'

Ideally it would be someone like Poyet or Farke, but the reality is it'll be some useless ex-Birmingham yes man like Garry f***ing Monk.
Think you have just nailed it mate🤣🤣🤣

He's not getting a premier league job any time soon. After that its a team struggling in championship who sack their manager. We'd still be a decent club for someone and never know. Might be he doesn't fancy it, that's why I said time to show ambition.

Where would his next job be, level wise? Keane joined us bottom of championship.
He turned down Norwich I think. Could easily get a prem job, if not a championship promotion side.

Allardyce, Farke, Lampard we have no chance of getting.
Tin hat on. I agree with above I’d go for John Terry
I’m indifferent about sacking Johnson but this would actually be my choice also

Ryan Lowe or Ian Evatt or Paul Warne have far better track records of promotion (all had 2 promotions) and would come here if asked. At least they would get us to the championship!! l j will get us nowhere!

Whatever happens in the next 10 minutes at Shrewsbury, my mind is 100% made up. He’s got to go. The question is who would we get or could we get?
He’s terrible. Bristol City finished in negative goal difference in 3 of his 4 seasons. His teams can’t score. Get him to fuck before Xmas period.

Someone with a point to prove. We've had a run of players and coaching staff who had less of that edge but had more experience. Not that I'd want him back, but the closest we came to going up was with Jack Ross, who had the hunger, but unfortunately the tactical nous of, well, any one of us on here.

Going back down the decades, Roy Keane, Peter Reid and Denis Smith all had little or no experience, but that single mindedness and attitude, of wanting to show the football world what they can do with a fairly sizeable club on its knees.

Is there anyone out there like that?

Norwich turned him down didn't they? Doesn't work like that though where he gets his pick. A championship team going for promotion won't be sacking their manager. Any job he gets would be because a team is struggling and sacked there current manager. That leaves a team battling relegation in championship. Would that be more appealing than us? Not sure. I did say in my first post he might not fancy it and would mean is showing ambition, so hardly like I'm convinced myself he would.

I’ve seen some West Brom fans turning on their manager, might be a job available there soon. Lampard has been linked with Palace, Newcastle and Norwich in recent months he wouldn’t come to league 1. Actually thought the job he did at Chelsea was underrated

If he'd fancy it I would as well. We need to stop this unimaginative, dull appointments. Someone with a winners mentality who knows what it's like to be at a club where pressure to win is normal.
This he’s been coaching at good level as well
A natural respect in dressing room for who he is They will listen
Won’t be phased by fan pressure
He will demand promotion not ‘project’ talk
However I think Johnson is staying plus if he’s going it will be another of his mould I fear Yes man ‘coach’ talking about philosophies, counter press craic galore
It needs a strong character look at the Keane appointment born winner similar needed now

Why?

The players played some good stuff but were very wasteful in the first half. Could have had the game wrapped up.

Second half they were poor.

My only criticism of Johnson would be why he brought Evans on. Should have been Embleton to look for the second goal.

Mcgeady crocked again and Dajaku poor and wasteful though he did try and make things happen.
Johnson’s scared of second goals.
