Perhaps but that then works both ways doesn’t it.
No point in raking over what Vaughan or Lloyd said in historic private conversations. Or Hales painting his face for a fancy dress party. Or what someone names a dog or deems as ‘banter’ between mates.
Where is the line drawn? What Rafiq said was disgusting and there isn’t any excuse for it. He said so himself.

The point remains that if we’re not raking over one’s historic past conversations then it works both ways.
I don’t agree with that premise, but then I’m not the one proposing it.
Of course it works both ways. But what is absurd is that the actions of Rafiq detract from the actions of others. They don’t, in any way shape or form.

I don’t know about that. Rafiq and Oli Robinson have both been guilty of historic racist tweets when they were teenagers. They were racist and aren’t defended by anyone not even Rafiq himself. That aside lots of people have been very ‘pro Rafiq’ why wouldn’t they be. He’s been in the wrong end of the most horrendous sustained racial abuse imaginable and been effectively mocked by his employer when trying to resolve it. I’m shocked at how many white people even today aren’t desperately supportive of Rafiq and what he has went through and his Facebook message a decade ago doesn’t change that. Many people should take the line of the Jewish council who accept his apology unconditionally and are supportive of him moving firward.
