To be fair I can sort of understand it. If the Saudis are genuinely wanting to compete with man city etc then a relegation, although annoying, won't really matter in the grand scheme of things. They'd do similar to what Ashley did in the championship and make sure they spend enough to get a side that easily goes up. Then if they strengthen again there's no reason why a newly promoted side couldn't get to mid table. You just need to look at the shite at the bottom, I mean the mags haven't won by late November and they're still in touch with 4th bottom, it's mental.

If they're actually going to try to run the club sensibly then relegation could be catastrophic so that's still what I'm hoping for. Can see why a lot wouldn't be thinking it's the end of the world though
If they go down heads will roll literally.

Absolute ton of drivel that post mind.

So if we were bought out and became the richest club in the world, you'd genuinely be worried if the first season, where the squad was weak, led to relegation? Haway man, they'd come straight back up and if backed financially would be easily able to get to mid table with little worries. It would put them back a year but, if they're going to spend big, it would be far from terminal. If it was Sunderland a lot of us would be saying the same.

Just like we’ve come straight back up. They’ve still got absolute knackers running the club.

What's happened, I'm away and only just got an Internet connection. God I'm dreading reading back, I reckon they got the new manager bounce and won 4 or 5 1.

Is that what happened, please tell its not.

I’ve seen
  • “exhilarating football” 🤯
  • “so different from Bruce”
  • “play like that and we’ve nothing to worry about”
  • ”under Eddie (they do like to call managers they like by their first names) we will get some surprise results”
The ownership may change, the manager might change, but I thank the Lord, their delusion and their gift to keep us amused remains consistent 😀😀
By the looks of it, this exhilarating football will result in them having to score 4 to win games.

Bit different though, the last couple of times they went down people were saying it's a hard league, they'll struggle etc and they absolutely pissed it. If they go down this time they'll have a manager quite suited to the league and will no doubt spend a bit. Added to the fact they'll almost certainly have a director of football by then. I just don't think it would be a complete disaster for them. If they can't get out of the championship then they'll do nowt in the prem anyway. If the people they've got do have the ability to make them competitive in the prem then one season in the championship will hardly knock the whole thing off course. So whether they get success or not, imo, won't be affected by whether they go down this season. If it was Sunderland I wouldn't be worried long term over one relegation in their position
