Yorkshire Fans on their Club

I know there’s plenty about this on the racism thread and generally all the Yorkies in there have spoken very well on it all.

However, their forum has posed the question regarding what comes next for The Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

One to keep an eye on…

The financial stuff goes way over my head, but it's clear Headingley will become a bit of a white elephant for a while, perhaps falling into disrepair with large areas completely closed off for years to come. Especially the Western terrace and the new stand.

Only thing I'm keeping an eye on is the punishment from the ECB. They were quick to boot Durham in the knackers with a whole range of punishments... Be interesting to see how they deal with Yorkshire and compare it to how we were punished.
Personally I think they should be punished very heavily as simply inexcusable how they have handled it, been a disgrace from start to finish, ‘ The banter’ statement was beyond belief,

However to compare the punishment against what Durham got is ridiculous as they not comparable in the slightest as for totally different things all together.

How Yorkshire have handled this has nothing at all to do with Durham

Unless they make radical changes I reckon they could be in real bother financially. Don't particularly want to see them go to the wall but it would be quite funny if Graves has done his dough with his low interest loan to the club and can't get it back.

I agree,

I am merely just gonna observe. Should be tougher punishments but I believe it will be a slap on the wrists and a small point deduction.

I will amazed it the current climate if they don’t get punished very heavily and rightly soo!

it's hard to judge really. i can understand the punishment in some ways to durham, i think removing test matches was a farce as it's an income stream denied when we had financial bother, entirely backward.

yorkshires as you said earlier an entirely different kettle of bananas as far as offense goes. i think massive fines which should be ploughed into a complete overhaul with how the sport is governed and implementing far greater safeguarding for those who may suffer abuse (what that's racially based or gender, sexuality etc) and the mental health support required surrounding that, at all levels of cricket from grass roots to the professional game (where we've seen plenty of high profile mental health cases alerting to an obvious problem)

I get you have to discourage clubs being gung ho with their finances, a relegation does that. Same as the points being docked at Derby, Sheff Wed etc. To then dock points in the league and the cup giving you nothing to play for and reducing your potential income when you need it seems petty and kicking a man when he's down.

Where will The Northern Superchargers play?

As a kid I 'supported" Yorkshire in County Cricket as they were nearest to us. I was a student in Nottingham and saw the Notts side that had Broad. Robinson, Randall, Rice, French. Hemmings and Hadlee in it and I swung towards them. As soon as Durham were a county side there was no argument and I saw them at Lords in the first season. I still have a latent affection for Yorkshire that was sorely tested by the Durham treatment compared to theirs. The racism is no surprise. Folk who think blunt means they are right, when really it is ignorant and rude. The fact that Yorkshire has pockets of high levels of the Indian and Pakistani diaspora but don't field or attract the same numbers in the club tells its own story.

The WRF is interesting to read during the season and I have an account on there, but rarely post. But it's a bit dour. It's YCCC and not much else and a bit too serious for my liking, none of the "banter" (excuse the use of that word) you get on here.

I entirely agree and of course it was a situation entirely if the ecb's creation but I didn't see much need to re open old would
