Spot on.I meant to comment yesterday (or maybe even this morning) but never got round to it, someone saying they were competing with Qatar and Abu Dhabi and would want to be the best.
Inter Milan will be that competing vehicle, the Mags are the sportswashing vehicle.
Mags lap them up and defend them while they spend peanuts and plow massive amounts into Inter to compete with Man City and PSG.
Sportswashing and dick waving all sorted.
The whole idea of sportswashing is to deflect attention away from their atrocities by getting people to talk/link the Saudis’s with football, golf, boxing, etc… The purchase of Newcastle to them is a cheap way to help achieve this.
If they really intend to compete with Qatar and Abu Dhabi they would never use Newcastle. They are light years behind the Man City’s of this world and it’ll take many years before they could even consider breaking into the top 4 let alone the top spot. I just couldn’t see the Saudi’s being happy to wait 7-8 years just to be able to compete near the top.
Acquiring Inter Milan or similar would allow them the opportunity to easily dominate their league and compete every year in the Champions League with the PSG’s and Man City’s of this world, giving them maximum exposure at the highest level.
