Racism at Yorkshire CCC

So am I right in thinking that because he sent anti Semitic abuse, it’s acceptable for him to be subject to racist abuse himself? Is that how this works? It seems to be.
The influx of posters in this thread following this news tells you all you need to know. Then their is the closet ones who have been previously masquerading.

What he did was wrong and he has apologised. That doesn’t make it alright but by the same token, I don’t think anyone was under the impression that he was an angel. What we factually know, he sent those tweets and a myriad of people have racially abused him.

Seemingly his tweets cancel out the horrendous abuse he has suffered according to the usual suspects.

Ah. So holding the abused person to a higher standard than you do the ones doing the abusing. Excellent work.
Holding them all to the same standards. Racism is racism. A jewish bloke was the abused person in the case of Rafiqs facebook messages? There is no winner.

You see this is what I don't understand. We'll rightly condemn the racism but we'll tip toe around the anti-semitism. If you think one is worse than other then say so.

The lad should not be racially abused.

He should not racially abuse people.

There are no winners here at all.

He shouldn’t be front and centre of any racism campaign. The Government now need to step in and get this sorted independently.
The only winners might be future sports men and women, after this shit show I genuinely think measures will be brought in place to protect them whatever their ethnic background.

If he was racially abused it is wrong. but any thing he says in court can be can his character be believed? Vaughn ect can now deny and call his character into question

Bingo !!!
It took a while but we got there eventually. So by accusing the lad of being a racist himself , we who have pointed this out, are now racists .
You really could not make it up .
Yesterday before you knew about his post where were you? Where were you in support of a lad who as far as you knew had suffered years of systematic racist abuse? Abuse that was so deep and sustained he almost took his own life. Abuse confirmed by a ton of people coming out and apologising to him. Where were you? You were nowhere but today in response to a message 10 years ago by Rafiq, when he was 19 you are all over it like a rash. It’s not excusable at all by Rafiq but the contrast in the 2 is vast.

when you ask yourself why you haven’t been in the least supportive over someone who has suffered the most horrendous racist abuse over years and wanking your self daft if his racist tweets 19 years ago it might go somewhere to helping you recognise why you are a racist.

It's not going to court. But the vast majority of the accusations he put forward have been accepted by Yorkshire and individuals named, and for Vaughan specifically it has been corroborated by two others.

Also, I think the most important thing is that over 1000 incidents in county cricket have been reported through the hotlines set up. It isn't about Rafiq specifically - it is the institutional racism in our game.

I’m not calling you that. But any reason why you’ve ignored all of this for a year, including the big news this week and then only popped up today?
I personally try to avoid most of these threads as as soon as you put forward an alternative opinion you are immediately labelled racist . I had to come on now though to point out the whole hypocrisy of the situation . Do I think the lad should be punished for a joke which would have been main stream comedy ten years ago , off course not . However he has ruined a lot of reputations over the past week whether they deserved it or not and now we find out he is basically the same as the people he has called out .

It’s incredibly odd that you’re more bothered about perceived hypocrisy than you are about what he, and others, went through.

His tweet was unacceptable. But watch the parliamentary session and then with a straight face try and argue that they are the same. Hint: they’re not.
