This fella is corrupt as fuck and not for the reasons people seem to be suggesting on here.

He was appointed despite having clear links with Qatar and Bein sports to stop the takeover. He is now facing being 'removed' because he couldn't do that.

More blatant proof of corruption doesn't exist. He 'technically' followed the rules of the EPL to pass the takeover. Whether we like it or not he eventually acted as he should (as rules currently stand). To remove him now, shows he was appointed with an agenda.

Newcastle fans said this all along.

I think the fact that it was passed a month ago just a few days after the PL said it would hear the appeal in January and not comment until then?
Allied to the fact that 3 PL lawyers said there still wasn't enough proof of separation?
And the announcement coming a few days after the PL being lobbied by Boris Johnson following direct contact from MBS?

Means there's a lot more to this than we know. The fallout could be very entertaining.

Come on man - Saudi was stealing the product that makes the Prem so valuable. Yes, he was an ally to Bein but if it wasn't for the IP theft he would have been powerless to let the takeover go through. It took the Saudi's 18 months to stop being stubborn and make good with Bein then the takeover went through.

There were so many people having an outside influence it's mental. It 100% should be investigated. You had people pushing for it to take place and many against it. It shouldn't be happening. There are rules to apply and follow. No outside interference should be allowed.

If the rules are shite, which clearly they are, they need changing. This has to be done without agenda and without influence.
They need changing right enough. And without a statute of limitations so any club currently owned by corrupt monarchy’s who are even now bombing stoning and beheading people have said owners removed Immediately or sanctioned so heavily that owning a football club is no longer of any use to them.

The problem is, legally speaking they were fucked. It was clear to everyone from outside that the PL had be lobbied by the Top 6 and Bein sports. Any decent lawyer worth their salt could prove that and let's be honest, they can afford the best.

It was passed, because it had to be. By letter of their laws it passes. That's batshit crazy but it does. Nobody either thought we would need a 'murderous regime' clause yet clearly we do. They delayed in hope they could change the rules and then fail it. That was never going to wash either.

The lobbying that went on meant the EPL were only going to lose. If I was them, I'd be changing the test rules asap and issuing an apology to all.

The problem was, although EVERYONE knew this, they were never convicted on any charges. You would be hard pushed to get that past a decent lawyer too.

I categorically agree, but as the fit and proper persons test currently stands, it passes. That's laughable in itself, and clearly that needs to change immediately but you can't allow canvassing from anyone.
I can see this being a negative for you to be honest. The premier league clubs have to agree to an appointment and I'd guess they would agee to it being someone that brings in all kinds of FFP rules. I also think you have to go all out to stay up as if you are releagted I can see them setting up new rules. I wouldn't put it past the other clubs.

So have the mags now gone from saying the Premier league is corrupt to saying its not? 🤔......
From what I’ve seen some are saying he was given the job of stopping the takeover and he failed. Seems it wasn’t masters after all.
Well there’s a thing. All over the place these cretins. An absolute shower of shit.

As long as it's balanced I couldn't give a shit. Genuinely. What's not ok on the other end is to allow shite like Mike Ashley pulled. Fair advertising costs should mean that a club can't be used like ours were. 151k a year compared to teams making 10's of millions is a f***ing joke. Where was the uproar then?

Which what I think will happen - "we didn't foresee this terrible situation so had no rules for it but will ensure it doesn't happen again".

All sounds very FFP.

To be fair I think Bein had a point "these gits pirate our feeds that we pay a fortune for with governments channels and now you want to let them buy a football club so we can pay for the privilege of watching them pirate us"?!

The other PL teams can do one. They have no right (that I can see) to have updates on the deal.
