Hales was best mates with Ballance. Balance used to call every person of colour ‘Kevin’ even in the England dressing room. Hales was right into this and even named his dog Kevin because it was black.

The thing with Root will run...he's saying Root is a good man( and I tend to agree) and has never uttered a racist word.
Rafiq does say he finds it odd that in all the times out as team mates when racist insults have gone on, Root never heard or remembers any of it.

He was on a podcast recently (the Grade cricketer) and he came across awfully. Seemed to be proper thick and just bashing the aussies (hosts), to the point it was pretty awkward and they didn't know what to do.

Seems Root was weak and didn't stand up for his teammate. Which makes him culpable in a way. But if he apologizes then I am sure he can move on. The real problem isn't Root.
