Cancel culture isn't a thing not people public outrage isn't a thing, I'm not denying that. It's not a thing because people are never properly cancelled. Even those with the most henious of crimes can eventually come back.

Roman Polanski was awarded a life time achievement award and cheered on stage last month. Mel Gibson and Jonny Depp are back in movies. Teams still want to sign Watson of the Texans in the NFL and Floyd Mayweather is still a superstar. Nestle is still a huge company despite the baby milk stuff etc. I could go on.

But why would you be upset with moral outrage anyway if it's true? If they do terrible things they should be punished like the rest of us.

Isn't the Depp and Amber Heard stuff still largely in the courts and looking like he was the victim?
 
Good to see Adil getting his twopenneth in. Changes things considerably and one less excuse for the deniers to deny. "What about Rashid, he's been quiet etc etc"

I had a read of the white rose forum. Majority were actually right behind rafiq.

One poster tried to discredit Rana Naved ul-Hasan saying he'd been involved in match fixing. Which was a pile of crap.

The latest Vaughan backers theory is. Cos ajamal shahzad hasn't said anything it's still bollocks. Apparently 3 against 1 not good enough.

Maybe shahzad didn't hear it

I think the worst of it has been taken down, but there was a lot of the word "woke" being thrown around as an insult on one particular day last week.

People have questioned the lack of BAME representation in cricket.

This maybe part of the reason as people have been afraid to really challenge it.

*in addition, they might actually be indifferent about the person at the centre of the scandal.

but because there is masses of outrage, masses of social media posturing etc it’s important to be part of that bandwagon to fit in and to gain acceptance.

By definition, if you're cancelled, then return, you wern't cancelled. Which is why I maintain it basically dosen't exist.

Being held responsible for your actions and out of favour until you make efforts to rehabilitate yourself is just a part of collective human behaviour that has happened to everyone *except famous people*. Its just that they have society so in thrall to them that people believe, consciously or otherwise, they should be able to things without the same level of accountability.

I too hope he smashes it and it isn't an anticlimax. Not expecting it but would be nice if Adil could be there as well to turn the screw

That certainly seems to be the case on this forum as most people here claiming that Vaughan is a racist also include the fact that they can't stand him in their post
