They really are precious soft shites. Did they really think the rest of the country would applaud them for this? What did they think was going to happen? FWIW I think they’ve had a very easy time so far, aided and abetted by Boris Johnson, Sky, the BBC, and all the other alleged “journalists“ that are fighting each other to muff their hoops. One thing is for sure, nothing is forever and when this does go tits up, the same ones that are noshing them off now will miraculously discover a moral compass and start knifing them in the back. This is as good as it gets and they can’t deal with it. Heaven knows how they’ll manage when the shit hits the fan.

I think it was a combination of opportunism, our weak Government being desperate for investment, the prestige of owning a PL team and the opportunity to get a single-city PL team with the most loyal fans in wor country, who will quite obviously be behind any potential investment opportunity in the city.

I do think as well that initially they trusted Staveley and believed whatever bollocks dream she sold them. Now though, there's evidence that they've lost faith. Luke Edwards hastily edited an article on the day of the takeover saying that they would be looking to replace her in the future and despite being apparently at the centre of the deal, she clearly wasn't in the loop about the takeover progress (this is her own excuse for the lack of preparedness so far). Then, you've got the fact that she was entrusted to lead the manager hunt, and now the leading DoF candidate is apparently flying to Saudi to be vetted.

Then these reports, true or not, start leaking. Something not right there.
 
Not sure if anyone can remember the outrage when we employed Di'Canio, not sure if he had murdered someone, but some of the press went on like he had. Loved by the media as a player at West Ham, had a team playing great football at Swindon, then turned into Satan when he became our manager.

Apparently Eddie Howe was just behind Emery in terms of being appointed. Give over. They are night and day in terms of experience and success. Awful recruitment if true.

Apparently the mags have great forwards including Joelinton 😂

Eddie Howe's record in the top flight is on a par with Steve Bruce. That's the top and bottom. They should let that sink in.

If any of this is true it shows they must have done a shockingly small amount of due diligence (maybe not so different to Ashley after all!). With FFP (and big clubs who won't want them overtaking them) it was always going to be incredibly difficult to get them anywhere near the top 4 (which presumably is when they'd think it's worthwhile). Can't just fling money at it. Best case scenario for them would be about 5 years of building before having a hope. There was always going to be some negative reactions, as shown with the super league stuff, British fans aren't normally good at keeping quiet. After so long in the process of buying them you'd think they'd have had a clear idea of who they wanted in charge, which players would come, how long it would take to establish them as a potential top 4 challenger. The article might be bollocks, if not the mags might really live to regret these coming in
