Defending your club is fair enough and we all do it but this is quite manic and illogical.

Everyone in football knows Howe spent big sums at Bournemouth and everyone knows there are away supporters at SJP. Yet they repeat these things like the chants of some weird cult. It's like the 'famous number 9' nonsense which is bizarre, football supporters around the country know about the Mag obsession with it but have no idea why or who.

Sadly, this is very wide of the mark. We know that multiple others wanted it or nearly took it.

The truth is, Howe is a reflection of where we currently are - we are step one and for that, imo Howe is a good appointment. I'm not going to lie, I'd have been more wowed with Emery but that doesn't change the fact that Howe will in all likelihood, do a good job.

Barton seems to have just appeared on my radar after years of not hearing from him. How he got an England cap is beyond me.
