Howe must be drained already, been in talks for about a week. Poor bastard has been worn down to finally provisionally accepting the job.
Deserves everything he gets if he takes coin from those bloodstained shitweasels, as does any other player or manager going there.

The Guardian reporting that Howe "interviewed superbly", but yet they decided to offer the job to Emery instead anyway.

I think this in itself shows what the problem is going to be. It's always going to be wanting to have a "name".

As soon as a poor run comes, it'll be all about clamouring for a big name to come in.

He'll keep them up (a sausage roll would keep that squad up with Norwich already guaranteed to take one relegation spot FFS) and be gone as soon as the first poor run happens next season.

He's a lucky man that Wraith mind ! Never done a days graft in his life, but makes a living out of following Newcastle United. Nice work if you can get it.....

(Well apart from having to support that lot 🤣)
Hopefully he gets so wrapped up in Salman the butcher that he gets a flight out to Riyadh dressed like that and with a nice praise be to Allah flag wrapped around him.

I’ll lose all respect for Howe if he takes the job. Same goes for everyone who joins NUFC under this regime.
Has ‘regime’ when applied to club ownership ever been more apt?
I always thought he came across as intelligent, thoughtful and considerate. Just shows you can be all of those things and still sell your soul for blood money from murdering shitweasels. I hope it turns into a waking nightmare for him. Whore.

It’s canny serious when you put it like that.
All of em had been very very regular visitors to their embassy in the US in the weeks leading up to the attacks.

Care to name these 'other clubs' and why they're being holier than thou?
I should have been clearer in my response, apologies for that. I mean sport right across the board. Grand Prix in Saudi, world championship boxing featuring our own Anthony Joshua, and in football the Saudi regime being feted by Liverpool FC in 2017 when they signed a kit deal with New Balance, Liverpool's kit supplier. The Saudi Royal family were guests of Liverpool and signed the deal in the Anfield boardroom. I can find a link if you can't find it, but a simple Google search ought to bring it up. I'll repeat again, lest this turn into a pissing contest: I will not be putting a single penny into the club while KSA are involved. I'm done with Newcastle apart from wanting them to win every time they step on a pitch. It's impossible to change that desire, and I won't try to, but my time actually supporting them is over. Has been for a while in truth, but this has cemented it. The people excusing the behaviour of KSA just because they invested in a football club they support are f***ing shameful. Likewise the people using it as a stick to beat Newcastle supporters with are, for the most part, opportunists. Do you reckon those Palace fans with the banner give two hoots about what goes on in KSA? Or the Chelsea supporters, Chelsea ffs, with their history of racism going back god knows how long. As I say, I expect it from Sunderland, our nearest rivals, but not from arseholes from Palace and Chelsea

Putting politics aside, the Mail's Olly Holt has been the strongest high profile media writer to question NUFC's takeover. Brave, honest journalism unlike the hypocrites at other papers, the local media Mag pack, the BBC, ITV, Sky, BT Sport etc. etc.
Would he have written the same articles for another paper that put the bread on his table? Politics can’t be put aside where The Mail is concerned. It’s desperate to make up for backing their boys in WW2.

"The ECHO understands that members of the Saudi royal family will be guests tomorrow at the Liverpool v Arsenal game, but any investment deal does not involve a stake in the football club but a link-up with club kit providers New Balance."

Chalk and Cheese. Essentially LFC allowed NB to host the Saudi's at Anfield. Keep clutching.

Where's all this bollocks suddenly come from about Howe 'interviewed superbly'
If seen multiple fuckers exclaiming that he interviewed well. I've never seen that before with any managerial appointment.

Why are they going out of their way to justify the appointment and pander to the mags?
They keep mentioning “in principle” why I’m wondering? The f**ker clearly doesn’t have any. He should fit right in with the regime.
Id have thought he’d have took their hands off. Oh had on.

Yeah, anyone can turn up at Anfield and use the boardroom eh. Not a peep from anyone when Liverpool are involved, albeit in a small way. It's ok to have a Grand Prix there, it's fine to host the boxing, and it's ok for us to sell billions of pounds worth of arms to them. I'm not defending Newcastle, I think it's disgusting that they own the club now. I think it's about time we stopped trading with them altogether. Agreed?

PIF is Private Equity.

PE funds are designed to invest and/or trim the fat. Once profitability has been established they sell on - usually in year 4.

I've worked with PE funds for years and this is a rinse and repeat cycle. PIF will likely be gone before a trophy is won.
I think the difference here is the fact thst the Saudis couldn't buy it themselves, they had to use a vehicle like PIF which they could pretend wasn't controlled by the Saudi state. Given that, its probably too early to tell whether the deal is actually just an attempt to make profit, same as most PIF deals, or whether this one will be having the aim of sportswashing and be one they're more than happy to lose a lot of money on. Hopefully it's the former mind, be funny as fuck if they sold out for rich owners who have no real interest in spending their vast wealth on the mags
