You wouldn't think Staveley spent the last year or so keeping this deal alive, it's almost like they didn't expect it to actually happen. Now they have the club there seems little in the way of planning.

Don't want to go round and round with you, but a good manager is plenty capable of getting this team to safety. Newcastle don't need a "survival expert" like Allardyce as they'd only need to replace him (and the players he'd bring in in the Jan window) at the end of the season anyway.

Managers like Favre, Fonseca, Emery, are plenty capable of getting this squad of players (plus the January transfers) to safety.
any previous evidence of this , or is it a guess ?

If anything was anywhere near close there is no way it wouldn’t be out there. Look how quickly the Conte to Spurs story leaked.
And if there are still as many names in the frame as mentioned in that tweet by Ben Jacobs then they haven’t narrowed it down very much.

You honestly think managers would turn down x million pounds because SA own a club ? I certainly don't.

The consortium were taken completely by surprise by the suddeness of the PL turnaround is the ONLY explanation surely ?
Yes I do. There will be someone who won't, and they'll immediately be known to be associated with murderers. And get tortured for it (excuse the choice of phrase)

Head up Lads here comes another terrorist sympathiser with his "what abouts"

I reckon they have a shortlist to offer it to but cant as they need the OK from the bonesaw men.

It'll also show how disorganised and badly run they are.

The first question they'd be asked at the Howe unveiling would be:
"You bought the club 4 weeks ago and Eddie Howe was already unemployed, you could have sorted everything out before the sale went through, yet Bruce was in charge for a match and 3 weeks later here we are.
What took you so long?"
They wouldn't dare ask any awkward questions! they know what will happen.

Newcastle had a team towards the end of last season accruing points without too much trouble ...with the likes of ASM, Wilson, Almiron , Willock - all contributing to an attacking effort.

So it's not beyond the wit of expectation that those self same players + a couple of loanee recruits can achieve that again..
We just need to get on that roll.

Under Bruce the art of keeping out the opposition has been focussed on to the exclusion of considering how to beat teams on the break.

A sensible new manager will figure this out .

I'd hoped Jones would

money will be the only motivation of their next manager and the world will let them know it
