You can understand why some would jump to conclusions and use it as a tool to beat our fans without doing even the slightest bit of research? I'm sure YOU can. Everyone else thinks it's hilarious. Even a few on here who at the time pointed out it what it was were laughing.
Most people south of the Wear (and possibly the Tyne) wouldn’t recognise that outlined building on the flag. Even if they were to then carry out a ‘bit of research’ and examined the outline of every building in the Newcastle area, they wouldn’t find anything that looks remotely like it, so would probably assume that the domed building represents a mosque. What else could they think it would be?

More to the point, why put an outline of a building from a nearby town on a Newcastle flag?
