Pleased to hear it
Saudi takeover. And of course to wind me up. Not one of them are opposing it. Like I saidcif the cap fits. If you are against the Saudis why don't you start a Protest Group? Are you able to confidently state as fact the thinking of each of the 110,000 signatories? Were they all dead set against any other takeover? Was the Saudi takeover the only one they wanted? Was it because they love what the Saudis stand for?
Or, did a lot of people sign a petition in the hopes of accelerating the departure of Mike Ashley from the club?
I've said it before, but the fans are defending the club as they see criticism of the club as an attack. They shouldn't defend the Saudis (or Staveley or Reuben for that matter) but they will. In a similar way to Scousers defending Suarez, or some of your lot defending Johnson. That isn't whataboutery, that's just an objective acknowledgement that football is tribal and when the tribe feels attacked, they'll muster a defence. It might be a stupid f***ing defence, but they do it. Newcastle fans are not alone in this regard.
I'm not sure that the pittance the Newcastle fanbase are putting into the club will fund global terror, but every fan has to make decision that's right for them. For some, it's too much and they've walked, for others they can see a distinction between the club and it's owners. Just as they did under Ashley.
Support what? A takeover? or specifically the Saudi takeover?
If your mates have sent you, a sunderland fan, pictures of them in tea towels, is it possible they've done it to wind you up?

They are complicentDidnt you know its nothing to do with Newcastle fans? Apparently its more Sunderland fans' problem
Fair play if so but I'll be really surprised if he does. For one thing he won't have time as he's never off hereHe is mate, on a previous thread a week or two ago he said that he'd start up a cross team protest group made up of NUFC and SAFC fans with a SAFC poster on here.
Just waiting for the announcement...

-Use political pressure to force the Premier League into accepting a bid from a barbarous tyrant that personally oversees murder of dissenters, stoning of homosexuals oppression of women, and genocide of neighbouring populations.Which would have been the case at every club with an owner the fans wanted shot of.
That is some steaming crock of shit there.
Listened to the first few bars and it reminded me (for some reason I can't fathom) of the film Titanic.Probably SEB but the Geordie Nayshun has a new anthem.
Even wearing a 1992 top
I've spoken to plenty because I live in Durham and none have been conflicted. But almost every single Newcastle fan I've spoken to about this says they're conflicted.
I would accept that the tea towel wearers are in a small minority.I don't, I will happily throw the daft lads turning up in headscarves under the bus. They should know better, and if they don't someone should tell them.
I will defend the overwhelming majority of the fanbase who weren't wearing headscarves, or flying Saudi flags or whatever.
Exactly this. What’s the point. You literally can’t get any worse of a regime than the Saudis. So whoever takes over a club are never going to be as bad as them.Sky: The Premier League has agreed to meet Amnesty International to discuss a "revised human-rights compliant" owners' and directors' test following the Saudi Arabia-led takeover of Newcastle.
Farcical this. Shut the gate after the horse has bolted etc
Also why do this if PIF is a separate thing from the state? Hmmmm
I haven't followed this thread now for quite some time, but have you seriously considered to just stop posting for a bit? I think some of your points are reasoned, and we have had some debates over the last few months, but relentlessly posting about is seems a little sad to me, It's literally none stop.
Wonder how much time the fish actually spends on here per day .. those lengthy whatabout diatribes all come at a serious time cost and think of all that hate propelling it... does he work ?I’ll repeat it again for @The Fish seeing as he constantly dodges the question. Did Man Utd fans sit back and accept a corrupt regime buying them like the murdoch empire?
did they fuck. They organised and protested instead of wearing costumes from Oz.
I’m genuinely sick of hearing the but, but, but excuses from you lot now. It’s tedious as fuck. The rest of the country isn’t going to let this go though so I’m going to enjoy your moronic lot attempting to justify it with everyone else.
You're probably right. It's just that I see the same bollocks repeated ad infinitum to the point they (regardless of how patently ridiculous they are) become accepted as fact.I haven't followed this thread now for quite some time, but have you seriously considered to just stop posting for a bit? It’s quite ironic that a couple of Newcastle fans have helped to make this Sunderland forum one of the top posted football forums in the country due to the constant replies that help these posts reach 100’s of pages in a matter of days.Quite a few, myself included could benefit from this advice. I'm just going to chip in with my shitty banter from now on - there is literally no point as reasoned debate can not be had.
So what was it then? The petition was regarding the PIF be allowed, was it not? Therefore, that amount at least were demanding them as your new owners. You're probably right. It's just that I see the same bollocks repeated ad infinitum to the point they (regardless of how patently ridiculous they are) become accepted as fact.
"All NUFC fans want to be owned by murderers and despots" The tiniest amount of objectivity would tell you that's utter nonsense.
"You's signed a petition to push through this takeover" With not a moment set aside to answer the question why. Why did 110,000 fans sign a petition to push through the takeover. Was it because they wanted to be associated with the Saudis, or was there more at play?
"Yous are all waving Saudi flags" When it's patently clear it's a tiny, tiny minority. Even if it was 500 (which it wasn't) that's less than 1% of the ground, let alone the many thousands who weren't there.
It's just bollocks and I find it difficult to see such bollocks and not state the case for the defence.
But, yeah, you're probably right. I should step back because it's the same users, spouting the same nonsense that I end up in circular arguments with. Which is no doubt boring as fuck.
Probably SEB but the Geordie Nayshun has a new anthem.
