He’s very attack minded, they need their defence shoring up. No matter what work they do in January, they are going to have a largely immobile side that cannot play the way he demands his sides too. Favre is much in the same vein though I think would be a better appointment for them than Fonseca. They are clearly going down the ‘big fancy name’ approach, getting wrapped up in the needing to play good football nonsense, which would have been a exciting proposition for them if it was May rather than October, with 3 points from 8 games.

I don't even know why I am replying to you as I will probably end up regretting it till my last day but of course I am not making DIRECT comparisons between someone who is from a country who beheads journalists and someone who consistently failed to back the manager with sufficient funds and an effective scouting system. It is idiotic to think I am. My point you were unable to see is the obvious. Both Short/Donald and Salman are bad owners that come with with bad reputations and negative baggage - naturally one significantly worse than the other.

Given what we know Lee Johnson can do over time with existing talent like O'Nien and his own signings, most of which young talent, he would never in a million years have come had Short or Donald been in charge.

And I think red lights and sirens will be blaring encouraging them to stay away if a really good manager is approached by MBS given the controversy over the ownership deal.

Taking your argument to it's conclusion, you are basically saying "our murderous abhorrent regime is better than their abhorrent regime"
By saying you are not the first example of sportwashing, which is a ridiculous made up term anyway, doesn't absolve your involvement with the regime. It entrenches you in the filth of trying to normalise and enforce respectability of what they are, and what they stand for. All for the want of an FA Cup, or Europa League place.
 
Haven’t endured the joy that is Sky Sports News for a while. Turned it on earlier to hear Donnie mangling words in true journalistic style to take 10 minutes and say nothing. Then they went to the legend Micky Quinn, scored so many gerls, and was treated to his answer to the question who should take over. Start at the top, Pep Guardiola!

I also think he dyes his hair.

Irrelevant iirc. As long as Newcastle fans win some games they won’t give a fuck - precisely why sportswashing is successful.

I saw someone today comparing how much Bruce would get as a pay off to what a nurse earns and saying it was a disgrace. They haven’t mentioned anything to do with Saudi war crimes though - so presumably they’re ok with that.

In that case they only need look at us. It is one thing to have a good forward line but it is the back where you start. If you can't shore up the back then I think you can't win games.

Others are bad, and hideously wealthy, just not as wealthy as the Saudi's. So I repeat, is there an imaginary line of wealth, abhorrent behaviour, a combination or simply because the money is not going to one of the 'big clubs'?

Micky Quinn is an idiot. He took the piss out of a disabled lad but is some what of media darling it’s never been brought up. Fair enough it was Dave the Rave but still
