The funny thing is mate, they have a bloody big target on their backs now. As you say, the other PL clubs are not only going to rip them off when they come knocking for players, but teams will lift their game due to the ridiculous media circus around them.

Relegation is still a very real possibility. That squad is terrible, and no big name manager is likely to take it on, knowing they can't spend till January
By January if they are still in among it no one will touch them with a bargepole, and clubs will be demanding silly money for players.

Then what?
 
I have a mate whos a Gills fan and it was a planned demonstration against Paul Scally the owner, timed for either the 60th minute or at any point we took the lead, it didnt go quite as planned though as some home fans tried to stop it.
 
Does anyone really think say if Conte was offered an eye watering salary of say £10m a year { plus a promise of big money available for transfers} he wouldnt take the job ??

Dinosaur Parkinson could keep that squad up no problem when theres the likes of Burnley, Watford, Leeds, So'ton and Palace knocking about so no one with ANY SEMBLANCE OF MANAGERIAL ABILITY would be risking it taking them on imho.

Obviously, Conte's huge ego will ensure he won't even consider them, but there's a few half decent names that would crawl there to take it such as Howe, Lampard and Wilder whilst out of work foreigners like Fonseca, Favre etc would undoutedly take it.

Anyone dreaming of the skunks going down is living in cloud cuckoo land sadly, but hopefully, it might be a close run thing with any luck.
