Good to see Manquilo as shite as ever.

Woeful at the back - Ritchie finished at PL level, Clark not far away from that either. Lascelles just not good enough, no pace, can't pass.
Midfield ouch. Willock decent engine but what's his forte, certainly not passing ? Hayden and Longstaffe championship level at best. Shelvey ? Best days behind him. Liability in centre mid. Joelinton abysmal.
ASM and the centre forward are decent tbf but if owt happens to them between now and Dec 31, the mags are still gona be down there at turn of year.

It’s a bit like Ellis Short, he chucked money right left and centre, he didn’t understand football or employ the right people to run his club.
The one thing that still resonates as true, from when SD came to see me dad, he said Short couldn’t understand why when he’d ran so many successful businesses that the club had failed.
SD said to him, your castle, which is a hospitality business do you have people employed there who understand the hospitality business.
This is not a defence of SD, more that chucking money, as Short did, isn’t always the answer
Without Short’s money we’d never have had 10 years in the top-flight. This was the longest time we’ve had in the top league consecutively in my lifetime. The bloke lost £200 million on us…

We were doing exactly what the mags are unhappy about doing though, surviving. Do you think they'll be happy with hanging on by the skin of their teeth every season? They'll expect nothing but success now.

That's true..but Shorts problem is that he didn't surround himself with football people at the time...bean counters and back street lawyers

The Saudis will be hands off I reckon. They'll put someone in an executive position, but it looks like Staveley will do the hiring and firing. If it's not working her having 10% could get in the way.
10% is almost negligible. I am not so sure of the Saudis position yet, I am not so sure they give a shiny shit about Newcastle.
I’m also not convinced about their financial backing
