I used to have a lot of time for him. He used to reasoned and came across as very level headed. I commented on something mag related on Twitter and he replied saying I wasn't qualified to comment because as a Sunderland fan I wasn'timpartial. That confirmed to me that he simply didn't want to hear an opinion if didn't fit the narrative.
I’m hugely disappointed in him, I truly thought he was much better than he obviously is

Al sharia was an embarrassment on motd last night
He’s spent all week fluffing staveley up yet claim the fans can’t help who owns the club
He’s helped to facilitate it

Didn't he also claim that the takeover would actually help highlight human rights abuses in Saudi?
Nobel Peace Prize incoming.

They're a disgrace. Everyone else around the country is seeing what we've known for years about the great unwashed.

Everything they and the club do from now on is going to be under the microscope, hopefully it all goes tits up for them

The problem is now journalists(said in a mock stan collymore way) Now have to pander to their demographics to keep their twitter followers happy. actual newspaper sales/advertising is on the wane and so is their wages.

Souness

Jonathon Northcott
The Northcott article in particular should be required reading for anyone that wants to learn something about this.

He was impartial, balanced and his writing was outstanding at times. Some of his articles were up there with the best.

What he didn’t do was stay objective and keep his work fresh. The punters liked “burgers sizzling in the cathederal” so he kept serving them.

Gradually he fell in with the NE press pack and bit by bit they brought him down to their level. A real shame.
