They all campaigned for it, and rather than object, enthusiastically celebrated the Saudi takeover. Their MPs, spurred on by the fans, pressurised the Premier League to allow the take over by these monsters.

To pretend it's nowt to do with the fans, is disingenuous at best.
Conveniently forgot how they campaigned for it. Wouldnt be forgot if it was Sunderland, would never have been passed.

I’ve sent me email into editor or motd telling him that on any voxpops shown tonight there must be no reference to their takeover being good for the region
The region includes Sunderland and is not good for Sunderland to be dragged into geordie hypocrisy
I’ve just sent this.
During your next edition of match of the day or indeed any of your footballing broadcasts would you kindly avoid any reference to the recent takeover of NUFC by the PIF of Saudi Arabia as being in any way shape or form as being advantageous to the north east of England as a region.
I live in the region and regard the takeover by one of the most morally reprehensible regimes on the planet, and their attempt at sportswashing absolutely revolting. The negative reaction this will eventually draw from the rest of the world is deeply damaging for the entire region outside of Newcastle city centre.
Thank you

Aye my mate's just said It's part of the deal, he wants free advertising for Sports Direct for a few years, heard new owners are going to try and buy it out, thinks he heard a couple years ago it's worth about £15 million a year.
