How come you like Sunderland but Seaburn is really hard to get to?? It's a 10 minite drive from the town. Definitely worth it with the amount of places that are becoming available now
It was originally intended for the crowtree site but other bars didn't want it there and a few residents from the high rises objected that apparently the noise would be too much.
It would have been good in the city centre but I think it's worked out for the best where it is now.

Can Metro through to Sunderland so it's easy to get in. If we did stay past last Metro then at least it's only one way for the taxi.
Crowtree would've been ideal though surprised the bars didn't want it though seems a strange idea to prefer people to not touch the centre at all.
I wish they'd do a Christmas market me though, the ones in Leeds and London are class and there isn't one in the North East especially now Newcastle has cancelled there's. Big opportunity and loads of people come down for the Roker Lights.
I just think those bars must be ruing that decision. Bar 88 and the Seaburn Inn are basking in the reflected glory of the Stack.

Aye that's fair enough. I know a few people who instead of paying to get a taxi back from Newcastle they just get a room for the night.
I always like hearing how people from outside of Sunderland see it though and it's great to see that people enjoy it. Really winds me up when people born here have no pride and slate their own birthplace.

I’ve just come back from Newcastle and it was mental, so busy. But I actually prefer Sunderland it’s a lot more laid back, but maybe that’s something to do with me being a geriatric

I'm the same. I don't really like Newcastle because it's too busy, and genuinely prefer Sunderland as its just easier. People don't believe me when I say that, so I'm pleased there someone else saying this.

North Tyneside. It's not far walking wise but once you've done 50 minutes on the Metro (with a change) it's a bit of a hard sell. Trying to persuade someone to get the Metro through to Sunderland is bad enough before telling them there's a 15 minute walk at the end, not happening especially when there's a Stack in Newcastle and it's Sunderland which would be their exact words.
