The will to ignore comes from their sense of entitlement. The vast majority of them have only ever seen two seasons outside of the Premier League. Both of which were nailed on promotion seasons with teams that should never have been below mid table in the Premier League, one of them enhanced with massive spending by the world's greatest ever manager. Yet somehow there is this hilarious perpetual myth of supporting through thick and thin, dark times etc.

Nobody is expecting you to stop following your team.
Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable but everyone has different morals.
It's the hypocrisy.
Ashley is made out to be the devil, yet the Saudis are great.
The North east is a traditionally working class area and you (not all) have turned into Harry Enfield torys, with all your 'we are considerably richer than you' shite.
Most older fans have been bleating on how much money has ruined modern football.
Bang, there go the morals, stick a teatowel on your head and sell your souls.
Do you not feel a bit dirty seeing your fans waving a Saudi flag?

support the team not the regime and all that malarkey? Did you misplace it? Forget where you left it? The U.K. government are corrupt but you don’t have to vote for them, in fact you should be grateful to them for getting your deal done.
And they didn’t buy Sunderland they bought you, after you campaigned on their behalf for 15 months.

Sorry it wasn't directed solely at you but as a group of supporters in general. For the past decade we may have laughed at your antics (shop shouting countless fan groups mock funerals etc). But you've been resolute in one common goal getting rid of Mike Ashley but now there's nothing you can do? Even your LGBTQ+ community has rolled over for them when they know their stance on homosexuality.

I personally don't feel comfortable but still support the team. And yes I do feel a bit dirty seeing people with tea towels on their heads and waving Saudi flags, but every group of supporters have a section who do things that a lot of other fans don't agree with or support.

Me personally I'd support the club but not attend any games, my mate said he'd still go to games and I called him a ****.

Aside from that I'd not defend the Saudis like the vast majority of your fans have and I'd certainly not have protested to actually let them buy is which again the vast majority have done.

Whilst I didn't walk away under Di Canio others did, not that I think the two situations are comparable... an empty stadium would really send a message to the owners but I don't think your fans successfully managed a walk out against Mike Ashley so I can't see it happening here

Because he was a detriment to our club so of course we wanted rid of him. Doesn't mean I agree with acts commited by the Saudi government. That's why I asked what you would do if they had bought Sunderland, which you didn't answer.

It’s not real to them mate. It’s words on a screen or pictures on tv. If they’d ever seen a human body rent asunder they wouldn’t be talking the way they do. 99.9 of these knackers have never heard of kashoggi. And the ones that have hadn’t til last week.
