Sorry if SEB but has anyone seen that article in the chronicle (I know - but it popped up on my Facebook) with John Barnes saying the mags have been made scapegoats over this whole thing and he says:

“I am guided by the Government, [who are] the moral guardians of Britain.

“As long as the moral guardians of this country are saying it’s okay to do business in Saudi Arabia – which we are – we have to be realistic in terms of the way the world works.

“We look for scapegoats, so the scapegoat is Newcastle.”

Guided by the Government 😂😂😂😂😂
Must have escaped his attention that they campaigned for this. Had and local politicians supporting it. Went to the house of parliament ( aye it was shut but still) had a petition with a hundred thousand signatures for it. But aye Scapegoats. The gormless twat.
Enormous cheque? Surely they'll just behead him
It’s england marra. They can’t, which I’m sure frustrates them no end as it’s their preferred method of problem solving.
And well done with the avatar. It really is quite something.

Don't know mate. But they don't normally do things by halves this lot.
This is their first big decision and will be a sign of how they mean to go on.
A lot hinges on this first statement, and if they are as ambitious as we are being led to believe, I don't think Rogers would have been big enough. He's fucked them off so they have to go bigger.
Anything less and they will be ridiculed mate.
Looking forward to it.

I think a lot of things, like the takeover itself are superficial and being said to appease the daft supporters of NUFC who were dancing round with tea towels on their heads.

If this lot are as serious as and credible as we are led to believe they’d have a top manager lined up before this went through.

I’m not doubting they have access to a shit load of money but that doesn’t translate in to appointing the right manager or spending it in the correct way.

The longer the negative stories run (which they will) and if they remain in or around the relegation places (which is likely) the more they’ll struggle to appoint the type of manager to appease the supporters

Think I will just piss myself laughing when they take the knee😂
I think the intentions behind it still stand. But the PL and Sky Will need a few caveats. Main one being, as long as you don’t pirate our product or you’re minted and on Boris and nut nuts xmas card list.

man city retained the same manager for quite some time after they bought the club i think?
They did but at the time Mark Hughes was very highly rated after his work at Blackburn and City fans, United links aside, liked him. Here we have a manager they all hate with the second worst premier league record ever in terms of win percentage.

They’re either going to give him his 1000th game in the premier league as an act of ‘thanks’ or they will sack him on Saturday and create euphoria for Sunday.
My opinion like.
Quite possibly but then it’ll look bad from their point to do that on Saturday and we all know this takeover is about selling their image, they’ll look foolish to ditch after playing Spurs when there’s been an international break. I think they’re going to end up with Lampard and it’ll be tremendous viewing.

Interesting comments from Bielsa today:

A long answer from Bielsa on the Newcastle takeover. Says these things have been happening for a while and that there are "rules to prevent negative consequences". "What should be analysed by the media is if the rules preventing negative consequences are being applied."

Moral guardians?

“Wouldn’t it be funny if they went down after this”

The last 2 relegations we’re funny as fuck… this time though everyone, I mean everyone in the football world and those who have suffered at the hands of the awful regime that owns them would not stop laughing.

Now that wound be justice as whether the mags like it or now they are now the public face of the Saudi regime in the West.

Please let it be Lampard with John Terry involved that odious twat would suit them down to a tea towel

I was only here for the last one. It was pure comedy watching Mitrovich trying to figure out in his head ‘How are we relegated?’ Plus Villa singing ‘Sunderland’ after the match.

The night of the Everton game the last time was unbelievable.

As you say, Villa fans as an example were taking the piss out of them the last 2 times.

This time every clubs supporters would be loving their demise as much as us.

Wishful thinking they go down like, but it would epic especially after the way they have gone on welcoming the murdering scum who now owns them with open arms
