2022

As per 2019 standings, thats bollocks that. Apart from Durham I wonder who else will feel aggrieved and who got lucky

I expected Durham to be in Div2 but I'm glad we're back to two divisions.

Did Bostock explain at the forum last night why he preferred the conference system?

There was three ways they could have gone.

2019 Standings
2021 Standings
Play another season of conference and take final positions from that.

This is the only scenario where we end up in Division 2.

Not as anti the conference as some but prefer the two divisions. Not to fussed about starting off in division 2. I make us 2nd favourites behind Notts and you never know what Notts will turn up.

Fuck off ECB. That was predictable. Kernts.

We were like the third or fourth best team in that competition. Couldn't put Surrey in div 2 though...
No problem if we are as good as we think we are we should p#ss division 2 and go from strength to strength a bit like the mid noughties.
Valid point but on the whole I'm happy just to get back to two divisions. I'd put us in with a good chance of promotion. The format this season was absolutely shite
It's going to be interesting to see how they fit all this cricket in. You could be on the top tier of the county stand in the last week of February for the Traditional season opener against Durham university.

Pleased we are back to two Divisions and have got rid of that abomination that was the three conferences.

We'll need some signings to bolster our wafer thin squad but looking at the Div 2 teams for next season half of them have appeared to have given up on red ball cricket so can only see Notts and possibly Middlesex as rivals.

I would have been more impressed if the ECB had made it eight teams in the top flight and demoted two certain counties but that was never going to happen was it?

This could be very damaging to Notts regarding their squad and their recruiting potential.

I think we’ll be ok, obviously I’d rather see us in the top tier but we should piss promotion next year if this year was a precursor.

Quite a few sides in Division One are going very much in the wrong direction on the field too as far as I’ve seen.

fair

Undoubtedly the team showed much promise last season, our best XI can compete with the best but little in reserve. Jones, Trevaskis ,even Clark still ,are yet to establish themseves so I'm happy in Division 2 at present.
