Yesterday called the new Mags ownership group "generally nice people" - which saw him take a fair bit of flack from fellow journalists before he deleted his tweet

More generally though, he is supposed to be a Sky journalist for the entire North East. He was crying on live TV when they were taken over, saying how "emotional" it was for him to see such a big club them be taken over, tweeting photos of himself with beers with the hashtag #CANS, but I can't remember him being anywhere near as excited when we were taken over. Despite it pretty much saving our club (not that he would know, because he barely bothered to report anything about our plight under Donald and co)?

On his twitter and he has tweeted about the Mags 43 times since he last tweeted about us, Gateshead, Hartlepool or any other NE club...

I appreciate they are Premier League, but Sky have the football league rights as well and we have a lot of fans and therefore will have a lot of Sky Sports subscribers. Is it asking that much to want a bit more coverage from the leading sports news broadcaster in the country?

My take on it, for what it’s worth.

I found myself wondering how my Dad would have reacted as a life-long Newcastle fan. To be honest, I think he’d be disgusted. I actually feel a sense of real empathy for the club’s fans. They actually lost their club. And we lost our rivals. Saudi Arabia United F.C. will never feel the same. I have always had a healthy respect for Geordie fans and their club. I could always see past the delusions of grandeur and the arrogance and have always enjoyed the heated debates I have had with mags. Now, they’re dead to me. I do not recognise them. I want nothing to do with them or their club. Not while they’re owned by these people.

He knows where the money is and knows where he will get more work

that’s the way of the world unfortunately
There's no way the money was there under Ashley though, yet he still didn't tweet about us at all? In fact when we were taken over by a billionaire he didn't even tweet about it for several days. I'm not asking for parity, but a little more coverage would be nice occasionally.

I can and do live with that. I'm convinced that, had there been two parties with bids accepted, on the Saudis and one the Mexicans, there'd have been a split between which one we wanted. Even if 100% wanted a takeover.
Don't knock yourself. You're doing a great job of being a NUFC supporter....spending hours and hours every day on a SAFC messageboard

Get to fuck with that "he's a mag" shit. I'm not talking about Amnesty being envious - I'm talking about average Joe on here who has all of a sudden become an expert in middle eastern politics. The concerns are of course legitimate but it's when people are calling them murderers and that they supported 9/11 or whatever other crap that comes out.
Of course we're becoming experts.
You should to. One of the most evil dictators in the world owns your club.
Previous to this there wasn't really any reason to know much about him.
My son got a disease a few years back. I knew fuck all about it previously, why would I. When he got it I obviously learnt all there was to know about it.
You need to do the same. Learn about the disease that's taken over your club.
Watch bitter lake, a documentary about Afghanistan. It details how Saudi Arabia exported wahhabism and ultimately Islamic terrorism to the world.
Your owner of course was delighted when 911 happened. He despises the modern world.

It’s the sky narrative they’ve run for nearly 30 years mate.

Am I dreaming this, or did someone tell me back in the day that there was a big Arab community in North Shields?

Are you thinking of the Yemeni community in South Shields?

“I couldn't support a team owned by people openly taking out distant relatives that I'll never be able to speak to again. I'd have rather gone and watched Sunderland play,” Parkin said, referring to Newcastle’s local Tyneside rivals.

MEE were in contact with other Yemenis from South Shields who had similar concerns about the takeover, but did not want to speak publicly due to fear of a backlash from local football fans.

The big difference is all the Mag trolls in this thread that pop up every so often, some rarely at the same time strangely enough. They feed the thread and most get shot down but some keep going as they're not coming out with constant drivel trying to bait a response.

A quick search of your name in this thread and you've contributed nearly 5 pages of posts (nearly 100 posts) in the last 2 weeks alone (3 pages in the past week). Now add the multiple replies to your posts (or those joining discussion subject you're also discussing) then you could be looking at 20 pages just because of you. This thread has gone daft in the last week but given that it's a global discussion then you'd expect it to have constant discussion.

How many sadsack Mackems are in those threads on Mag forums trying to troll the Mags? There is your answer as to why this one is big, the sad Mags on a rivals forum bloating a thread even more than normal. You and other Mags will also be ignoring the fact the SMB has a shit load more active members with over 1,600 online and over 600 members at the time of this post

Nice to know I'm so impactful, but 20 from 900 is still only 2%. Meaning even if you think there are 4 other Newcastle fans who each are the cause of 20 pages there are 800 pages of Sunderland fans speaking about Newcastle United in the last 2 months. Which proves the fairly self-evident truth; you lot care about Newcastle, just like we care about you.

The new owners put more eyeballs on the north east football and therefore he will have more work and more money.

It’s a story of interest to the rest of the UK.

It is what it is. I don’t get why our fans are being so sour about it, and I don’t get why their fans first thought is to rub our noses in it.
They should just be happy and enjoy the moment. And we shouldn’t care.

Yes they’re a diabolical bunch of bastards but let’s be honest, we’d be over the moon if we were suddenly going to have Man City money.

I think this quote from an American article sums up the reluctance of mags to accept the Saudi bid.

“The crowd outside the stadium last week chanted, “We are Saudis, we do what we want,” while supporters on social media changed their avatars to the face of MBS.”

He's a shameful dickhead.
I don't care about coverage of us though. Just want us to win our games playing nice football.
