In fairness, the owners of the club at the time are still board members of the club now so it's not really the same thing at all.

I'd imagine the delay is two fold - firstly the luxury of the international window gives them time and secondly, they probably want to appoint a DoF first before appointing a manager that will work with it.

It's no secret they had apparently had both Rafa and then Pochettino down as candidates previously - how long do you keep leading people a long for when you had no idea whether the end was in sight or not ?

Will they bring back the gallows in the Gallowgate End?


At either end of the ground now are the Leazes End and Gallowgate End - one named after the neighbouring Leazes Park and Leazes Terrace, and the other after the city's infamous gallows - last used in 1844.

Spot on this, despite the mags on here proclaiming we'd act the same if the Saudis bought us there is no way our supporters groups etc would simply accept this situation.

For the mags reading this, I don't envy you. I actually feel sorry and sad for you.

Despite the rivalry, I always think how would I feel if you were liquidated this is far, far worse.

They won’t care mate, they have got billions to spend (even though they haven’t) and have zero moral compass.

I'd be surprised if it was all done by then but I don't think Bruce will be in charge. I imagine we will have appointed a DoF and be finalising a manager. I envisage Graeme Jones leading the spurs game.

Could be talking absolute bollocks though.

I'm a massive Sunderland supporter, but also genuine football fan.

Getting the away supporter ban overturned, putting rivalry aside to raise money for great causes like Bradley & those lads the died in the plan crash both sets of supporters have came together for the greater good.

Something has been lost for good here and I'm so thankful this hasn't happened to us but (like I say rivalry aside) it's awful seeing this going on in the English game, let alone in same region.

i’m still quite shocked at the don’t seem to care attitude tbh. I know a few very sensible mags who i genuinely thought wouldn’t accept it, and they aren’t really bothered. I just don’t get it
