For all the accompanying dismay, one of the great pleasures of covering Sunderland over the years has been the club's firm sense of place, tradition and community. For me, that has been dented. And I hate writing that.

I used to enjoy reading his stuff but after reading that it appears he was a snake in the grass in terms of double standards.

Exactly. It's a slow build. The supporters don't believe super money signings. It's not realistic. Just good signings and jobs filled properly across the club. Solid top 10 and trying. Sunderland will struggle to achieve this for years. The current owner is not allowed to spend any of his inheritance. It's a stepping stone to eventually go back and by Marseille. A blind man on a galloping horse can see that

I asked a mag at work (yes, one of those) about it. Apparently it's because we've got lots of cheap chicken shops, like the rip off of KFC type ones. I mean, they've probably got just as many like, and it's not really an insult to be told your city has chicken shops but, just like waving keys in the air, they really think we'll be offended, whilst we just look at them and think "what the fuck are you doing with your life?"

Did I start a fundraising page for him? No. Did someone start one on here 2 days after nufc were bought? Yes. And I think that's daft.

As an FYI - Last one I started was a close mate who died at 36. Last one I donated to was dogs.

It's another weak, nonsensical fable. As per they can't think of anything themselves, instead relying on plagiarising someone else's work. The dimwit is referring to a John Cooper Clarke poem written about Macclesfield I believe.

I mean as if someone from newcastle of all places can have a go at another City or town. It's not like their streets and suburbs are paved in gold, most of its a right shit tip and judging by the clip of their fans outside the ground the other night they really need to get their own house in order before criticising others.
