They'd improve their current squad though. They'd all walk into their team. It sounds made up mind, possibly barring Lingard, Man Utd will be happy to get rid of the others.

Regarding the toons money spent. It stopped after the initial Keegan years then levelled out. Newcastle were then behind Arsenal man utd and then Chelsea came. By then it was largely gone.


Anyway Say what you want but Sunderland fans would have loved them trips. Some of the home games were against teams most hadn't heard of too but the away trips will be what's remembered even the ones when only 100 went to the ukraine etc But these were the rules and everyone knew them.

Going back to the money. I'd rather have spent it and had a go than not. The signings we're exciting times if you think not then sorry like but you must be a miserable person and I am not sure apart from beating Newcastle must make you smile. I don't see the point in supporting a team if you can't get happy over some of the things that happened in that spell for nufc then I fear for you. Trying to rewrite history and say they were not good times I suppose is your view but it's referenced as positive so many times on here as success to make safc long suffering supporters much more loyal appreciative and if you had been through what we have. If we had had European nights etc

The 90 period was generally good if nufc were not in the top 6 then either in Europe or on long cup runs. Would not swap it. It's been said that football for Newcastle was 92 onwards so is it success or not

Regarding Blackburn it's categorically one of the worst comparisons I've ever seen I have no idea what Blackburn's fans think but your I LL bow to your superior knowledge

This 100%. Know two lads who had dad or uncle over there in 80s & paid mortgages off with the big money.

UK gov has had a close relationship with them for years & they were one of the states mentioned with post-brexit "global britain".

Not saying any of its right but money talks & all clubs would have had for & against. Easy to be all against when they bought your rivals.
