NUFC/Sportwashing

I still maintain that there’s plenty the fans can do. This investment from the Saudis is all about sports washing. If they wanted they could easily disrupt this with protests and generally letting their dissatisfaction be known. At the very least they could not be complicit with MBS’s aims, and stop perpetuating Saudi propaganda across social media and generally being seen to be welcoming their new overlords with open arms.

Yeah I was specifically talking about the takeover.
Someone shit bought them - we've seen first hand how powerless you can be to a change of ownership.

But the "I can't control who bought us so what's the point?" argument flies in the face of they way they've organised, mobilised and protested against Ashley for a decade.

By all means tell us that you can't do anything about the change of ownership.

But if you're going to say fuck all? Say fuck all!

At least stop with supporting them online, abusing widows of murder victims and trying to gaslight everyone saying "But Disney!", "But Twitter!" whenever people criticise the sport washing of a terrible regime through the purchase of your club.

When you have fans groups releasing statements criticising Ashley's treatment of his workers making him "not a fit and proper person", yet a NUFC Supporters LGBTQ organisation welcoming people who jail / torture / or worse gay people?

It shows that none of the protests were never about right / wrong, it was about money.

As the song goes: "Ah divvent undastand!"

Loving the mags squirming with the already infamous 'do you watch Disney and buy a Starbucks' etc

I've watched Toy Story so apparently I shouldn't be against the takeover :lol::lol::lol:
Thick bastards. They sold the Disney shares last year 🤣🤣🤣
Even if they hadnt so what? They had shares in a publicly traded company. They didn’t own it and it’s staff the way they own ISIS UTD and it’s fans 🤣🤣🤣

I didn't want them but I'm in no position to stop what's happening so I'll be going with the usual stuff I've always done and that's be a fan and supporter of Newcastle United football club, regardless. Thick of thin and good bad or ugly as I've always done.

Newcastle Utd doesn’t exist anymore. What ever values, traditions & history you had disappeared when you sold out to the Saudi state and what they represent.

In the matter of a few days you’ve gone from being our local rivals to be despised by the rest of the footballing world and decent people in this country.

You’ll continue to make absolute morons of yourself when waving your Saudi flags and wearing your mam’s tea towel wrapped around your fat heads at the next home game.

We’re nothing like your lot and I’m genuinely embarrassed to be from the same part of the country.

Shame on you then. There’s a hell of a lot more to life than eleven strangers kicking a bag of wind around a field.
I agree. And I'm not condoning what the owners do outside of football. I have no influence on outside of it nor inside of it. All I am is a simple fan and supporter of Newcastle united.

My main entertainment if Newcastle United, sport wise and, like I said, the good the bad and the ugly of that entertainment is a part of my life but not all of my life.

If you want to cast shame on me for being a fan then do so but understand it won't change my loyalty to the club and every team put onto that pitch.

This is what’s left of a school bus your new messiahs deliberately targeted in an air strike. At least 30 bairns were killed for the crime of being Yemeni and wanting to go to school. They knew that at least they’d be given something to eat and water to drink that the Saudi coalition hadn’t poisoned. There are other photos but they are way too graphic to be posted on here. This is what your owners do. This is what they are. This is who you sold your heritage to. This is what you want. So when you’re all dancing around like badly trained apes with tea towels wrapped around your nappers think on this. This is what you are now. Like it or not by campaigning for these animals to buy your club you are now a part of this. Oh and while I’m on, know this, your new owners despise and detest you more than we ever could in a zillion years. You are Kuffar.
But aye. I’m jealous.
you disgust me.

Maybe each member of the new squad could adopt one of the graves of the children killed in that Saudi-led air strike on a school bus. Put a replica shirt and some flowers on it now and then or something.

You can support your club and still oppose the owner though.

How about banners with "support the team not the regime"
How about a protest outside of the ground every home game.

There's two examples, but no next home game will see thousands upon thousands of vile arseholes with tea towels on their heads welcoming some of the most abhorrent people on the planet with open arms. That's the difference.
The nature of the beast unfortunately.
The smell of success breeds one way focus and it isn't just particular to one group of fans in any sport.

this is what their club is now. A vehicle for the people with the most abhorrent views, a PR exercise for a brutal regime. A tool for the Saudi Twitter bots.

Mags often say we are missing the point of “we got our club back”, they are missing the point of why there has never been a bigger disconnect and the club has never been further away from them.
They’ve got enough of their own but they are now a shit magnet for every nutter and extremist with an axe to grind. They really didn’t think this through.
