He is definitely not afraid to tackle controversial topics and he’s one of the only one who has had the balls to speak out against this.
Caulkin and the rest of the NE journos, some of who I had respect for, Caulkin in particula, have been appalling, even Conn a non NE journo, who was one of the most vociferous against PDC hasn’t criticised.

Saudi Arabia has ramped up executions in the first half of 2021 following a drop during its G20 presidency in 2020, according to United Kingdom-based rights group Amnesty International.
The rights group said on Tuesday that the kingdom executed at least 40 people between January and July 2021 – more than during the whole of last year.

Sorry if seb but if Sunderland ever make it back to the premier league what are thoughts on going to watch Sunderland away to the Mags? Treat it as another away game, go but fly an amnesty international flag or make some statement or boycott the game. If anything this takeover has made me a lot more aware of the Saudi treatment of women, the guy community or anybody that opposes the regime. While I would want to support the team I am struggling with the new owners of newcastle, not because it is newcastle but the whole human rights issue and the links to terrorism. I am just glad it isn't us and dont have to make a choice between supporting my team or owners with death on their hands (sure there are many newcastle fans who are thinking this but are remaining quiet), yes great to win trophies and sign fantastic players but at what cost and atm if I was offered a ticket to watch nufc v safc doubt I would go.

It is entertaining listening to him on the Guardians football weekly podcast especially when he is joined by Jonathan Wilson who is mlf.

I’ll answer that for you, those that will get to travel throughout Europe watching them (if they make the progress they expect) will keep quiet and toe the party line whilst every now and again saying something like ‘I don’t agree with their appalling human rights record and will continue to ask those difficult questions’ whilst actually doing fk all and those that won’t get to travel around Europe and have interests in the big clubs in the EPL will call them out and every opportunity.
