If they continue with taking the knee at Newcastle, the opposition should turn their backs to the Newcastle players and kneel in the opposite direction.

After all. Kneeling is about "the continuing fight against discrimination in all its forms" now isn't it?
 

When I used to back horses years ago, one of my favourite horses was Generous, the Derby winner trained by Paul Cole. Its owner was Fahd Salman who had lots of horses with Cole. Was Fahd Salman part of the same family as Mohammed bin Salman who is "overseeing" the Mags?

Feel for most people if have diseases like that. Not sure how much the work done on her fyas hasn't helped mind.

Dunno if just me but I see all these lasses with suction and fillers and just think they look like freaks to me.

If it is ONLY the disease then its unfortunate for her though.

Surely therefore kneeling is more important than ever? It absolutely needs to continue and in all forms. It needs to be loud and clear the sorts of prejudices we won't stand for.

Whoever's backing West Ham doesn't seem to be that arsed about Declan Rice leaving. It's almost like they're touting him around clubs trying to milk as much money out of him.

Must be frustrating for their fans to see them on the cusp of moving up another level and going "Naaaaa, mid table is fine, mate."

Good free transfers. Yes. But again. You arent the only club looking at them. Currently there are 18 PL clubs in a better position than you are. Yes you can try and secure them, but if you are looking like you might drop... why would they go to Newcastle?

You are also presuming that the Saudis are willing to bankroll the club with a blank chequebook
It's the public INVESTMENT fund. They are in this for a return on their money. Not really any different to Ashley in that sense. They just have more to gamble with. That means their investment can wait longer for a return.

I suspect you will spend in January, and I'd put money on you staying up.
but as in my original post, the next few months are going to be interesting.
Because by the time the transfer window opens, you could be in big trouble. If you are... you will end up paying over the odds in a roll of the dice. If you still go down, that's some big money in wages at a championship club with players who may want away.

Ok so it's a lot of what ifs. Long term if I was a Newcastle fan I'd be Feeling positive. Short term I'd be worried.

Funny how when it suits football clubs are apparently no different to Disney or Uber, when at all other times all we hear is 'we've got our club back', 'our Newcastle', 'heart of our community'.

Strange, because I've never heard anyone saying 'Me da's been taking an Uber every Saturday since he was a lad, without missing one' or 'Disney is at the heart of our city'.

I wanted Mike Ashely to leave the Club but didn't want the Saudi's to come in.

I've worked in the UAE and they were bad enough and they are almost Amnesty International in comparison.

However, I know I will still get excited if we start to compete. 95% of you lot on here and any other club's fans would be the same in this position.


The reality is that NUFC now have some massive backing. How much is going to be spent is another question. My guess is a lot but there will be investment in the Academy. the ground and some local stuff as well. Otherwise, the "sportwashing" won't work.

Will we be relegated this season? Very possibly. The fat Man U knacker has seen to that. We could be completely cut adrift by January.

If we survive, then I would expect a top 10 finish next season and pushing for top 6 the season after. They have not bought in to this to finish 17th.

If we are relegated then it moves everything back a year.

Utter nonsense comparison saying “do you use Facebook, Disney” etc. They are huge faceless corporations of which anyone can buy shares for.

The sheer hypocrisy of Newcastle fans who used Ashley’s business practices and treatment of his staff as a stick to beat him with because it’s not in keeping with their community centric family club, are now lapping up their new owners who, last time I checked, are a lot lot worse than Ashley.

Fans will always want investment and the vast majority will not care where it came from - but save the whataboutery. It stinks and reeks of hypocrisy.

I agree. I actually think they're going to try and be measured and gradually improve them with sensible investment. Infrastructure will be improved, fan engagement and sponsorship deals as well as the obvious investment on the pitch. They'll be looking to increase the value of their asset, the same as nearly every owner out there!

Don't think we'll see gung ho aggressive spending like PSG or man city regardless of FFP. More a long term project like what they are saying. PIF are a business with responsibilities and objectives, not to throw money away. January will be very tricky for them, can't see how they won't get ripped off in the market. Everyone knows they have money and FFP wriggle room, everyone knows they are under pressure from fans to spend and everyone knows they are desperate to avoid relegation. Clubs and agents will be all over that.

They are saying all the right things. I hope it goes wrong for them. As Mike Tyson says, everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face.
