The sage observations of Rob Lee,

"What do I think of the owners being a Saudi Arabian-led consortium and that country’s human rights record? There are people owning clubs who I presume have done many things we don’t know about. I’m not going to mention names but we all know people who own clubs are not always squeaky clean. And I don’t know how much involvement the Saudi government have anyway – none of us will know what involvement they’ll have with the football club and the financial side of it. I don’t really get involved with this side of things but I do see a lot of, if you like, countries buying clubs – are they all squeaky clean?"

Squeaky clean and a front for a brutal regime are rather different points on the compass. Still Rob is happy so we should all wear his glasses through life and it will be fine and dandy.

Canny read.

I notice loads of the football alliance lads that support Newcastle are right up the hoops of the Saudis like.

Correct.
And internationals who are injured until a month before a tournament.

They will end up with a team of "stars" who are surplus at their own club, and simply dont want to be there.

I am confident, relegated this year and then watch it all fall apart.
I hope Amanda has a reservation at the mental health retreat she is regularly confined to.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Ronaldo ends up going there on half a million a week when he’s in his 40s and plays about 5 games for them. They’ll still hail him as a Geordie legend.

Havnt had tv on or radio in van since wednesday but had to put up with fuckers at work all day

They’re already wanting to extend the stadium.

Absolutely annoying as fuck weird breed of people like.
That’s what makes it so funny, they build their hopes up then it goes tits up.

Ohhh, so it makes it ok. Clever Rob, nobody sees through your clever excuses

So just to be clear -

(1) The U.K. government stepped in to have a meeting with the EPL, in order to usher through the acquisition of an EPL club by a foreign entity.

(2) The EFL then clears the deal, on the basis that it has “legal assurances” that the party buying the club is NOT the state of Saudi Arabia.

(3) The UK government now can’t release details of its meeting, as to do so could affect its relations with the Saudi STATE.

They really should have spent more time getting their story straight.
Mate, I keep on saying it. They don’t give a shit. Not the PL. Not the government, not the Saudis, and certainly not the mags. They are all getting what is important to them above all else. MONEY. They don’t care how bent it is or who knows about it.
