At the level they are playing at, a 200m war chest is huge.

To Man City/Liverpool/Man Utd/Chelsea it's relatively small in relation to the level they are playing at.

The most depressing thing for me is that realization that football fans will bend in whatever direction is needed in the glimmer of hope they will be buying top name players like they were in the mid to late 90's.

For Sunderland fans there is some solace:

- every win, will be a hollow win;
- SJP will be the focal point for demonstrations when the next "atrocity" happens;
- NUFC will largely be hated and the entertainers/great fans will long be forgotten;
- NUFC fans can never undo how embarrassing and apologetic they have been. Polls aplenty confirm acquiescence to be c95%;

but finally NUFC will feck it up, they allows do.

The council will be rubbing their hands, they wanted this deal as they will invest heavily in Newcastle, not the region just Newcastle. The fans didn’t really care about that but the council did.
