How are the newly qualified human rights advocates on here this morning then?
Don't think you have to be qualified in anything to be able to see what's gone on with the Saudis. It's not a binary thing between being an expert and knowing nowt. While I'm not going to bang the drum that they shouldn't be anywhere near football I don't think it should be dismissed so easily either. That's the price of taking their money.
Also, SAFC with KLD in charge are doing the same. Heading in the right direction with a wealthy owner who wants you back in the prem. You will get back there and you will more than deserve it after what you have suffered in the past 6 years and i really mean that.

Heres to the future of both clubs. Lets hope it makes the north east a proper hotbed of football again
I think there's interesting times ahead for both you and us. Obviously I'd take enjoyment from it going right for us and wrong for you lot, but it'll be interesting to see how things go.

The worst mags are those from Durham who type, and especially say "howay". Their accent doesn't lend to it. Forced, awful.

I know loads of genuine Durham mags, and I have no issue with them at all, FWIW.

Youd think if they were serious about success thered be no room for sentimentality. Shearer and Keegan are busted flushes in management, Keegan in particular is a relic. Wheel him out for fan events but it would be outrageous to give them any serious clout at this stage.
Keegan got an honorary mention too! The impression I got was that around 8 of the 10 had never been to a match in their lives, certainly not at Sid James' Park. It was rank cloying sentimentality of the worst kind being trotted out last night - the guy that told me to 'fack orf' looked and sounded like a Chelsea geezer with his fat gut and shaved head.

Hopefully managers asking fans to please turn up 10 years from now and all of the overpriced tickets are bought by tourists that don’t turn up

GOOOD MORNING

I can guarantee you wouldn’t be posting on here if you didn’t think you were the new Man City.

now fuck off.

I post on here all the time mate

Dry your eyes

"God rewards those that wait patiently"

"Amanda you are our saviour, we deserve this so much..."

Think I may stay off FB,Twitter etc...the most myopic set of fans, sorry people, as half of them commenting have probably never set foot in St James' and the 2 comments above are both from women, the irony!

Gonna be like 90's all over again...f*ck 'em.

But you welcome them with open arms. You and your ilk are a disgrace.

🤣🤣🤣

Be funny as fuck watching Sky hype up the mags and their takeover and supporters with their Saudi flags and pretend head gear in the crowd whilst the players take the knee to “end social inequality and prejudice” and supporting LGBTQ rights 🏳️‍🌈

All the while salivating and waxing lyrical about who might be their fist £100m+ £300k p/week players 🤮

God I can’t stand what football has become in this country.

I think it could really turn into a decent few years in the north east with both clubs on the up.

Your having a great start to the season apart from one blip but your defo promotion material this year

I think it looks very bright, North East football has been in the backwaters way too long.
It isn't good for North-East football, it's good for Newcastle United. For most of the national press Newcastle United is North-East football, much as the North-East begins and ends at The Tyne Bridge. The phrase "good for the region" normally means good for Newcastle and the Gateshead riverbank.

Aye, I'd think so. I mean, the Saudis could obviously have bought 100% of the club. There's a reason these lads are there as well. Given their day job as it were, it's not hard to see what's happening. I'm sure the man city lads got a very good deal on land out of the council. You'd expect a similar plan here. Either they also use the club to show off by pumping billions in, or they run it sensibly so that when they sell it hasn't even cost them anything to get that foot in the door and that level of influence. Genuinely, football hat off, I hope it's positive for your city (plus any major developments there would see work for contractors and employees in Sunderland). Naturally they'll be in it for themselves though, like I say time will tell whether their ambitions happen to be positive for NUFC and the city, or whether they clash
Well, when Mansour sells up he'll have made money on the various pans he's had on the fire. I'd imagine that's the plan for the Saudis (and Reuben & PCP). Whether it works as well, who knows. There are other issues that Newcastle face that Man City didn't. As has been mentioned there isn't an existing Golden Triangle for the players. But there is no other Premier League club for 100 miles. The football landscape is very different to what it was then. But the Saudis have more money than God.

I dunno. I'm just happy to see the back of Ashley and I've hope for the first time in f***ing years that we can have ambition beyond f***ing survival.

It was more from the fact Sunderland are going in the right direction also, from a footballing perspective ;)

Survival. Aye these were hoping the same

Sam Fender on BBC breakfast in full mag tracksuit saying how great the takeover is.
Saying him and his saxaphone player were outside the ground and the sax player belted out local hero fans going mad etc .

Hmm Sam what about the beheadings? ,anti gay? ,women with no rights?
Some of your songs are about wrongdoings to people and peoples rights...
Yet you support the murderers regime.

A bit double standards if you ask me.

Exactly this. Big fan of his, but this is so hypocritical. Really disappointing to be honest.

How can anyone make excuses, or even just ignore the lack of human rights and sheer brutality of the new owners?

Their MP saying they’ve turned a corner too by buying Newcastle. Yeah, that makes sense. All these years of anti gay, anti women, anti everything… it’s all good now, they’ve bought the toon.

What an amazing example they’re setting for all the kids (and adults) in the area.

Shameful. Absolutely shameful.

Rivalry aside it’s awful for football as sport and another nail in the coffin.

Man City, PSG and now Newcastle state owned. Taking a step back and looking at what this actually represents for the game is gut wrenching… at least that might sign a few players and challenge for silverware though

This whole thread is hypocrite central tbf. The number of people who would be going on exactly the same if shoe was on other foot that have suddenly become human rights activists for the Middle East

aye right

The leader of her party should also be having a world considering what she and they are meant to represent.

Same for the other local labour MPs who were pro this takeover and they wonder why voters continue to desert their party.

Do one.

State your love of all things Saudi but dont hide behind it by claiming others would.

They are a vile nation of killers . US let them off the hook but that could well change.
