NUFC/Sportwashing

There's nothing inevitable about it. The mags appear to think that the wealth fund, which is 50 years worth of effort and investments is actually cash sat waiting to be spent on nufc. In reality, column K, Row 68, Tab 227 of the PIF spreadsheet is where the mags investment sits. The crown prince will even have to change the settings to print them off.
Tremendous! :lol::lol::lol:

Said yesterday that, as Sunderland fans this means nowt to us, and I stand by that but...........

These people are basically the richest people in the world, definitely football wise. As a combined group they are worth an estimated £320 BILLION by all accounts. They could have bought any club in the world for what, to them is loose change.

Why buy those scruffy bastards?

Sportswashing. They knew the Mags wouldnt protest. Its ideal for them

I'd say that's a huge factor. The UAE did it in Manchester when they bought Man City.
Aye, I'd think so. I mean, the Saudis could obviously have bought 100% of the club. There's a reason these lads are there as well. Given their day job as it were, it's not hard to see what's happening. I'm sure the man city lads got a very good deal on land out of the council. You'd expect a similar plan here. Either they also use the club to show off by pumping billions in, or they run it sensibly so that when they sell it hasn't even cost them anything to get that foot in the door and that level of influence. Genuinely, football hat off, I hope it's positive for your city (plus any major developments there would see work for contractors and employees in Sunderland). Naturally they'll be in it for themselves though, like I say time will tell whether their ambitions happen to be positive for NUFC and the city, or whether they clash

No one knows really, we'll get more of an idea when we see how they run it.

I guess if they want exposure they'd want a Premier League side rather than a side abroad. How many of them were for sale? It might not be the case that money is no object, so the cost of an arsenal or man united might not have been worth it for them.

If they want to build a legacy they'd have to choose a club that wasn't already winning things, a bit like Man City when they were bought, so that any success reflects directly on them rather than just getting a continuation of what happened before. They'd want big crowds. In that sense the mags are a decent bet

Equally if they have lower ambitions and want a profit, they can get the mags for a decent price, improve things and the value will increase a lot more than a club that is already in the CL.

Maybe the Ruebens are involved because the lot of them see potential for lucrative developments. Buying the club, getting the council onside, in an area where values can increase significantly might have played into their thinking.

Too early to tell, but I can see a few possibilities for why they'd have gone there
I keep saying how football will implode with the ridiculous sums of money to buy players and wages.

This buyout will escalate it even more, where £1 million a week in wages becomes a reality.

Even that is chickenfeed to these people.

Surely it has to come to a point where it is unsustainable?

100% this. Ironically the pathetic protesting has worked. They’ve also looked like thick fuckers in front of the Saudi’s and they’ve said to someone ‘told ya so’.
Totally against Ashley’s practices cos he wouldn’t spend. Totally for murder and human rights abuse cos they assume they’ll heavily spend.

NUFC are certainly up there with the most obvious purchases as you've outlined

At some point it must do. I know people have been saying that for years but it'll happen eventually. End of the day the main revenue is TV money. There's surely a limit eventually on how many will subscribe and how much they'll pay for it, so there's an undefined cap of some sort unless they completely do away with FFP

Going to go tits up for sure with the backlash they going to get every week and when they still struggling fighting off relegation this season, then in Jan, Mbappe has turned down a 350 million move with 10 million a year in wages offered by them, the new song will be lock up the camels and horses there is going to be hell:lol:,

Mags now have a new nickname to go along with HorsePunchers, ShopShouters, Deluded Mugpies...CamelHumpers:lol::lol:

Zero-hours sport-shop contracts v beheading 37 people in a single day. Hiring Dennis Wise v bombing Yemen. Is it really obvious that one of these – the beheading one – is so much more desirable than the other?

I can't believe the amount of mags who've come out of the woodwork.

They'll need to increase capacity to at least 500k at this rate.

GOOOOD MORNING

How are the newly qualified human rights advocates on here this morning then?

I can guarantee if this was your lot you would be doing exactly the same as us.
Dont try and hide it. You would be and you know you would be, just like the fans of any other club in the world would be.

I cant wait to see what the future holds for us. It wont be immediate, we wont be spunking money on mbappe and it will be a long process.

Also, SAFC with KLD in charge are doing the same. Heading in the right direction with a wealthy owner who wants you back in the prem. You will get back there and you will more than deserve it after what you have suffered in the past 6 years and i really mean that.

Heres to the future of both clubs. Lets hope it makes the north east a proper hotbed of football again
